That's only true with some weapons. Most weapons release both the bullet and the cartridge. The bullet comes out the barrel and the cartridge comes out the ejection port. The powder leaves the weapon in the form of gas and fire. Essentially the entire cartridge is released from the firearm. the only thing left in the firearm is carbon residue.

Is that where all these comments came from? I was wondering. I can understand AI art that shows the whole thing being shot out of a gun. Since that stuff would only be drawing (never be sorry for your puns) on what people have already made and a lot of people have made that mistake. What is incondonable is when that kind of thing is overlooked by an actual human doing any level of QA or simply not doing any.

Whats more. One thing never changes in the stories, no matter who or how the enemy do it, other than all of them ALWAYS unable to adapt and reinvent and think out of the box. The human ingenuity, resilience and indomitable spirit as the only species in all of space, even in other galaxies. It's getting to be a bit onesided and somewhat arrogant and a source of humanity's own downfall if this keeps up with no enemies of equal enginuity and resilience. In the real world, we have always been fighting with the use of that ingenuity and through a system of action and reaction that goes both ways and forces both sides to work continuously to improve and invent new and adapt. But not in space if we are to follow all these stories. We don't need it there. Ehmm, does that sound like something plausible?

Why would ships in an era of energy weapons carry old tech like missiles or railguns? Just adding cost and mass with no benefits. Also, everyone talks about bullets being fired with casing remaining behind, but nobody talks about railguns not using casing at all, since they don't use explosive propellent. Nice feel good story, but too many holes in it.

@@larrythompson8630 It doesn't make any sense. If everyone, including humans, use energy weapons, those would work at short range just as well. @larrythompson8630 2 күн бұрын
@@darktoranaga you realize we are speculating with no knowledge? Right? We don’t have energy weapons, shields, heck even working rail guns 20% of story. I think it makes sense. Shields, armor has been designed to stop current threat. Read about leather armor, long bow. Current body armor and laws against ammo that can defeat it. Tanks. Changes, reactive armor. You actually put bombs on your tank to disrupt penetrating weapons as I understand. Variety could be useful. Maybe shields could easily block massive energy weapons. Possibly use power to recharge engine's, weapons? Would energy shields stop projectiles at percent of light speed? Soldiers still carry bayonets. The talk was missiles, rail guns. Missiles I would think are far to slow in space. Maybe for ground targets? But rail guns at close range.

I love and also share the same hope and faith that humanity will one day become that backwater civilization that everybody else underestimated, that then came through, using humanity itself as the greatest weapon, to then secure and advance the galaxy, much of it being full of older and much wiser races, supposedly, that without that human j'en se'quat(sorry my french is abysmal) are unable to coalesce into a greater society.
