I'm at a loss. Last week the trio was fleeing the building for their lives because they're the intended victims, receiving threatening notes and finding hidden cameras in their apartments. The next episode, they all went back, no worry about cameras, etc. because now Sazz was the intended victim. She was asking questions on the ham radio and getting threats from a stunt man. At the end Mabel is in the Duddenoff apartment, alone, drawing on the wall with no worries about the fact that everyone has access to the apartment. There are only two episodes left and I have no idea how the writers are going to land this plane. All the people with motives don't have believable opportunity and the people with opportunity don't have a motive. Questions- Ever since the episode where Bev played the message from Sazz my first thought was how did Sazz know about the script before the trio even knew? It makes sense that she may have written it, but how did she find out it was being made into a movie? Did she get killed because she was snooping about the movie? 2. Or, did Helga kill Sazz because Sazz was asking questions about the Duddenoff scam and she thought Sazz killed Duddenoff so she was getting revenge? 3. If Duddenoff cared about the westies so much, why would he put them in a situation where they could all go to jail? Why didn't he just make a will, leaving them the apartments and make them his beneficiaries? I think we're supposed to assume the plot with Duddenoff was a red herring and it's resolved now. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the westies were lying and they did actually kill Duddenoff. But that wouldn't have anything to do with Sazz. Apparently Sazz and Duddenoff both having the same shoulder replacement and both ending up in the Arconia incinerator is a coincidence? 4. I missed something in season 1, how do we know Jan didn't write the note on her door and poison Winnie to create misdirection? Did she say she didn't do those things? I don't remember. 5. If Sazz faked her death, how did she train Gravey to smell a dead body and lead everyone to the incinerator? Was there another dead body in Charles' apartment? 6. If it's Marshal, who worked with him to move the body and also, why did they shoot from far away if they already planned to move the body? 7. If Loretta killed Sazz, who fired the shot that hit Glen and why? Loretta was in LA at that time. Too many questions. This mystery is all over the road, so I think this week I'll just make myself a Sweaty Betty and enjoy the humour and character development.

exactly to most of that...well said. I thought perhaps Jan wrote the script or has multiple personalities and those personalities wrote the differing notes because back in season 1 Tim took out her trash and they found two notes with different writing styles both sounded lonely and we were led to believe they were first drafts to let investigation suspect suicide but what if they were alter egos of Jan trying to get out? Otherwise why so many notes in varied writing styles? Watching you doesn't mean they actually suspect or are threatening but End it or else and poisoned dog is a threat and by someone who is sick.

Jan didn't say that she poisoned Winnie. She did say that she didn't poison Howard's cat(directly). She told Charles that the cat was poisoned when it licked Tim's blood. She didn't say she wrote the note on the door. We still dont know who poisoned Winnie, or who wrote the note.

Vince said Dudenoff's wife was a music teacher who would let a kid stay there if they were going through a tough time. Think Jan used to be one of those kids? I can't remember her back story of where she grew up but I know she had issues from parents/step parents.

The thing about this seasons murder is, that unlike the previous seasons, Sazz's murder was clearly very well planned and premeditated, and not a heat of the moment type thing. Whoever shot Sazz most likely had to wait quite awhile in Dudenoff's apartment for the good shot, and likely had someone who was in their party to give them the heads up when Sazz went upstairs, and that person also most likely got rid of the body and cleaned up the blood from the floor afterwards. But it is really hard to narrow down suspects without a motive, and still I can't think of a motive for anyone to kill Sazz.

This episode gave lots of clues towards Helga being involved in Sazz's death. 1) She knew Dudenoff's door code. 2) Her pig was found by Mabel in Dudenoff's apartment (which is where Sazz was shot from), which kind of indicates that she had to have been there recently. 3) She knew Sazz. 4) She knew Sazz was dead quite early in the season already, when she told them through the radio that the last person who asked these questions is dead, and they could be next. 5) She knew about the incinerator. I have no idea what her motive might be, but then again, I can't really think of a motive for anyone to kill Sazz.

About Marshall 1. "Fly on the wall" = spy metaphor (Access needed) 2. Impostor syndrome (and disguise !) 3. His studio resembles Arconia's apartments. 4. He's interested in performing arts (stand up comedy). 5. He hides when Lester arrives with the outfits for the photo shoot. What if Marshall is Lester's son? Is Lester his first or his last name? I guess it is his last name. Marshal would be Frank Lester. He could be called something like "Lestie" or "Lessie". That could be the word that Glenn said when they met outside Charles's apartment. Lester's son is an impro artist? Bunny could have confused impro with stand up. Lester's son can have access to the master key. Marshall could live at 14th D in the West Tower. FOR EPISODE 9: (Spoilers! Do not read) - I absolutely loved this episode! The vindication was real 😂🤌🏼 - Mabel drove me CRAZY by literally accusing a MURDERER alone in her apartment. What is with her this season?!?? -I haven’t seen many people talk about the fact that the protégé was called a “rat” in the scene where he was set on fire. -I think Glenn could still have been involved with the killing. I think he felt guilty about it, and when he knew he was being targeted by Marshall, he decided that he needed to tell the trio about it. -ALSO MAYBE THE “TINSEL” IS ACTUALLY A STRAND FROM SAZZ’S FIRE VEST

OK, since the responses are still dropping hot & heavy, let me drop a Totally New Theory: the Hitchcock/Agatha Christie Mash-Up. Dudenoff is NOT dead, and is the Big Bad going back to Season 1. After secretly trying to stop the Trio from figuring out he is a serial killer (the 6th Ave. Slasher?) going back to S1, Dudenoff decides he needs to escape. He stages the "funeral" with the Westies in order to support his death to everyone--especially the Trio. He knows the Social Security/Rental scam could only last a few years at the most. We never see everything that happens after the video: he tells the Westies they have to leave him alone to die, and come back in several hours to cremate his body. During the time he is alone, Dudenoff substitutes the dead body of his (yes) TWIN brother, who he has killed. Nobody knew Dudenoff, like the Brothers Sisters, is a twin. All of this season, Dudenoff is continuing to observe, and try to keep the Trio from discovering his crimes/catching him . He had NOTHING to do with Sazz' death (or attempted death)--that was all Marshall & Bev Melon, because of the stolen movie idea/script. The two cases are only connected in that the making of the movie contains something that nobody except Dudenoff knows will incriminate him as a Serial Killer. Now that the movie is going forward, he has to go into hiding--leaving a false trial of his dead brother's cremated body. But, if in ep. 9 the Trio realize Dudenoff is not dead; he now knows he's a man-on-the-run; and, as his last act of violence against the Trio--kills Loretta. To hurt & punish Oliver, and emotionally throw the Trio off their game. References: An earlier "Victim" being the actual killer: Christie. The Twin/look-a-like victim & switch of the victim: Hitchcock. Killing a Loved One to emotionally hurt the person chasing the villain: James Bond (On Her Majesty's Secret Service) The clues: 1- All the episodes have movie title names--except #9, when we'll learn Dudenoff is not dead; and that Sazz' shooting is unrelated. Sazz' murderer(s) are revealed: Marshall. It's the episode that brings us to Reality. 2-All the twin/doubles references throughout the season. 3-The illusion vs. reality themes everywhere. This is my LAST Theory before the 9th episode, when I believe LOTS of reveals will be shown to the audience.

The main thing that kind of occurred to me as time has passed is; what reason exactly does Marshal have for having such bad “imposter syndrome”? I think that him saying he has imposter syndrome may justbe an elaborate ruse to explain why he wears a disguise. I think the actual reason was that he was Sazz’s protege who messed up and was replaced by Glen. After getting replaced and being reprimanded maybe he overtook a new identity and stole Sazz’s script. What if the real Marshal P. Pope was in Dudenoff’s class either with Rudy or Vince, and the Dudenoff case gets connected to the Sazz case because Vince or Rudy can identify that the Marshal we see isn’t the real Marshal.

My theory is that Sazz helped write the script for the movie with Bev and Marshall. They met often at the concussions stuntman bar to discuss the script, where Glen Stubbins would have seen Marshall, who may have snooped around there without the fake beard. This also explains how Bev knew about Paradise, since Sazz must have shared that info to both of them. Sazz may have figured out there was a major problem with Marshall, so he goes to find more info on Sazz. He confronts Stubbins, who ends up being the rat and giving Marshall information on Sazz. After Glen recognizes Marshall without the beard, he is seen yelling about rats again, as he accidentally ratted Marshall out, then ends up getting shot.

I think when it comes to all the “baddies” in this season, I think the Dudenoff mystery is its own thing. I think the Sazz mystery is its own thing, and I think the person leaving the notes (and the person who poisoned Winnie) who’s been around since season 1 is their own Mystery. I think we’re just setting that last one up for season five, to be the “big bad” Moriarty-esque character. I think perhaps Jan dies at the end of this season, and then the big bad for season five is the person leaving the notes. I think Jan would be perfect to die because it’s clear that whoever is leaving the notes already doesn’t like Jan, and Jan’s got access to the Arconia tunnels and she’s gonna be snooping around there all the time which, obviously the person leaving notes would not want.

Something I noticed about Rudy since day one, that I told my dad about but wasn't sure about putting out there. But Rudy said he doesn't hunt but he has woods wallpaper, sure it looks Christmasy, but who would go that far to have forest wallpaper if they don't even like Christmas? He could just have white walls with decorations but he has woods; seems like something a hunter would like to have. -- Also at the end of the episode Mabel draws the pig and it isn't a cutesy little baby pig, to me it resembles the one Ben drew on his mirror, which is like another "hint" towards Glen to me.

What if Sazz made copies of keys from Charles’s apartment with a help from Helga, our locksmith, and then installed those cameras to look after the trio. I’ve been thinking for weeks about who put cameras in their apartments, if it was for spying on them or looking after them (the note “looking at Charles”). Whoever killed Sazz then could have gained access to the cameras through her phone.

This is my theory if you or anyone would like to read it. It's somewhat long, but I think it's pretty elaborate, and somewhat plausible Marshall is genuinely obsessed with the podcast. Sazz is connected to them, so he gravitated towards her. Marshall tells sazz he's an aspiring writer. Sazz tells him she's writing a script and he helps point out some plot holes, or they just find plot holes. With all the research they had done, they find out that the killer has been around since season 1 (sensitive info sazz wanted to talk about with charles). Marshall being part of a real life investigation...I think he'd like that. Kinda like a detective or a hunter, just enjoys the "chase" and tracking. The script had already been sent out before their discovery. Maybe Marshall sent it out behind sazz's back? Maybe stole it bc bev had assumed over the phone that he was the sole writer and took his opportunity? Or flat out stole it? Sazz tells Marshall that she's decided to tell Charles about her findings. Marshall begs her not to. Marshall ends up following sazz to New York where sazz meets with Glen at her stunt academy. Glen is her protègè and accidently almost killed her with the handgun at the academy (possibly other times as well), during that time Glen tells sazz about the only murders movie being made(knowing that she was writing it, and since he messed up on his last job and got fired, was gonna harass her until he got a job) but she had no idea the movie was being made. Sazz then ends up going to concussions. Meets with Dr. Maggie and tells her about the relationship she gave more than she got (knowing marshall stole the script right from under her), buys a case of olde Belgium, and heads off to the arconia. Sazz stopped at the west tower first. Either to talk to westies or check the dudenoff apartment for more clues. She runs into the brothers sisters inside dudenoff's apartment and asks why they're there. They tell her they're about to direct the only murders movie and dudenoff was their old professor and they wanted to see him. She tells the sisters that there's a big problem and gets bevs number. Marshall, already in new york, is on the roof of the arconia(knowing sazz would be heading there). He watches and waits for the right moment. He calls sazz to see if she's told the trio anything, she tells him not yet, she's going up to Charles place to grab some wine and right after she will, also telling him that she knows what he did and has already called bev. Marshall takes the shot and rushes across the roof and gets into charles' apartment the same way Jan did (through the ceiling). Marshall throws sazz's body down to the incinerator, cleans up, grabs a suit from Charles' closet and then throws the bag in with sazz. He changes into the suit bc he infiltrates the party to put cameras in Oliver's place like he had already done at charles He's the one who texted Charles as sazz to keep the movie going steady and wrote the note to replace the window, thinking Charles would never find out. He planted a bullet casing in the dudenoff apartment, not knowing the full story, he hoped the murder would be blamed on someone else. Thinking the trio were still clueless, he went to sazz's the same night the trio went there to collect everything that ties sazz to him, but trio showed up.

This is a pretty piecing together of everything Still some plot holes but it’s the tightest theory this far out from the last episode I’ve seen I think the motivation to kill Sazz part I think we don’t have enough clues to fully paint that picture accurately. Also how does Marshall have access to the Dudenoff apt to plant the bullet He has to have some inside knowledge from the westies helga or the brothers sisters He’s def working with someone Glen def recognizes him I also don’t think Sazz died from the gun wound Idk if she’s alive but I think there was a struggle when who ever came to move her tried to move her It would be interesting if Marshall is the one with sazzs phone who is texting the group tho

I also think Glen recognized Marshall. It's def too coincidental for that and Glen's shooting to be in the same episode. Maybe Glen was a pawn in Marshall's scheme? Im looking forward to finding out what actually happened!

Episode 9 thoughts: I'm happy were close to the resolution of this season but I hate we'll have to wait for the next season. I'm sure I'll find something else to follow with you guys. Marshall.... I'm probably wrong but I still have major doubts that he's the killer. Maybe he's the accomplist but I don't see him as a killer. The time it would have taken to get to a place to shoot Glenn from outside the window would have taken too long from when he was behind Charles as he had his 2 person epiphany. Plus he's clumsy. Everything points to Marshall but there's this tiny voice on my head that's saying "noooo, couldn't be" lol 😂

I still don't get some things. Like, Helga would play the Perfect Strangers theme tune, say "Meet me at 445" then they would talk to her? As we saw in the ep of Rudy's apartment. What would they be talking about if they had been keeping the truth from her? Still don't know who was talking on the Ham radios saying they wanted Charles dead. Like, the trio should have asked them. If the Westies did it as a hobby and weren't involved in her death, then they surely would have heard something. And also, Rudy's handwriting. The backwards 3 for an E when it came first, then the normal E when an E would appear next. Like in g3nEvi3vE then 3mma followed by bEn, written on his abs. Sazz did the same pattern on her note when she wrote down "w3st towEr". (Unless she didn't write the note) Which is quite similar to "3ND thE podcast or I End you." Not exactly, similar but peculiar enough to create a plausible link. It's clear he has more involvement, but it's hard to piece it together with the very little clues given. The Westies always seem to have an episode where they paint a picture so elaborate that it's hard for the trio or sextet to point out holes and question authenticity. Rudy lies too much. It would majorly suck if Rudy is the mastermind because, nu uh. No thanks. But idm him being the killer. I do think it should be the Marshall and Glen thing though. I hope it is.

Here is my thought on Sazz. I will hang on to the thought that she is still alive until this show proves better otherwise. After this week’s episode “proving” and telling us that Dudenoff died in the incinerator and Sazz supposedly figured this out before she was shot, why would she then died in the exact same way? If the westies didn’t kill Dudenoff, why would the kill Sazz? My guess is Sazz figured out a way to “disappear” like Dudenoff without dying. She has the ability to perform stunts. If she knew about the hidden cameras and how Dudenoff died, she would have known how to fake her death. Furthermore, she probably went to the incinerator after Helga told her about Dudenoff and her thoughts about what happened to him, and saw his left shoulder replacement. I think she knew someone maybe who worked in props on a film set who could replicate her replacement joints to make others believe she died. Why else are we not leaning more into Sazz’s murder? It seems like the show is distracting us too much from it. If she was really dead, I would have liked to spend more time on her investigation.

Ok so this is interesting cause I’ve gone down a similar thought train But I get hung up on the fact that Sazzs phone sends the vids to the group of themselves Which means the cameras are attached to that phone right Here’s my hang up Ok so let’s say Sazz is alive That means she’s texting the group the whole time and the cameras are hers So if the extra hidden cameras are hers Why would she need to fake her death in front of her own cameras? I think if she did fake her death it wasn’t for the sake of her cameras it was because she knew someone else was watching the apt either in the west tower or someone was coming to confirm the kill The rest of the theory of hiding and using other replacement parts in the incinerator yea there’s room to believe that for sure

One thing to note is that whoever killed Sazz, was a reasonably good shooter, and about the only person that has been in the entire season who probably is a reasonably good shot is Charles' sister's husband who is a cop. Bev Melon clearly didn't know anything about guns since she didn't even know the one she was waving around in an earlier episode was real, and we haven't seen anyone else the whole season either use a gun or even have one.

The Westies backstory with Dudenoff were so touching, my eyes were wet. So, yes, I enjoyed this episode a lot for them finally providing some clues. Thank You, Writers Room! Looking forward to the next episode, I'm asking myself: Which of these Episodes is NOT like the Others? The answer is Episode 9, which is NOT the name of a Real Movie. WHY? Is this another way of the writers to say "some things are Real, others are Fake." Which may mean that something big that we're seeing is not real. Lastly, my Agatha Christie reference: in her story "And Then There Were None" the killer was thought to have been one of the early victims. So, I'm holding onto my Sazz is NOT dead theory--and may be a Villain.

@@NerdsAtNite Regarding "why" Sazz did the theatrics: possibly Sazz knew there were hidden cameras placed in the Trio's apartments. Logic would suggest [Thank you, Mr. Spock] that the Brothers Sisters didn't plant the hidden cameras until AFTER the Trio went to Hollywood and signed over their Life Rights. HOWEVER, the Brothers Sisters did confirm that they WERE in NYC (to visit Dudenoff) on the night Sazz was shot. So, it could be possible that Sazz knew that part of the "movie process" was to film the Trio without their knowledge. AND, that's why Sazz volunteered to go to Charles' apartment to get the bottle of wine--to set up her false death alibi. Finally, I really expect that episode #9 will resolve Sazz' shooting, and episode #10, titled "My Best Friend's Wedding" will contain the next murder. My guess is the victim will be Loretta, and in Season 5 the Trio will dedicate themselves to finding Loretta's murderer--to help Oliver get justice for Loretta. It's personal.

I didn't buy the Westies' Dudenoff story. Neither did I buy the Hollywood trios' breakdown. I the their murderboard breakdown was a spoof for us....that they read through the script and were like "well, duh". The smudge on the note was not only unfair but in the wrong spot. It's one of the building security cameras they were installing that Uma was complaining about at 5'48. It's marked camera 12. The one at 15'55 is the building security cam for West Tower floor 14, marked as camera 8. The numbers don't really make sense; you'd think the Westies hall cam would at least be number 13 if they were going floor by floor to put them in... Unless someone's putting in selective cameras under the guise of being official security cameras.

Still love this show but the plausible parts are not very plausible. If they make Paul rudd’s 2nd character the killer I am going to be irate. At first, I was super with this episode 🤣 I SO wanted there to be 2 murders; I don't necessarily believe the Westies either. It seems too convenient and there seems to be a few plot holes. However, restrospectively, I do like the emotion and heart behind this episode. But it'd honestly be my DREAM for them to be lying somehow 🤣 However, I only thought of this after my video, but what if Dudenoff was the OG victim and the reason he's dying isn't because of an undisclosed illness but long-term poisoning? After all, Whinnie was poisoned. Did he take pills to cover up the poison? This would lead into season 5 if they're setting up a Moriarty character

I think both the notes on the doors, and the extra camera in Charles' apartment were from Jan. She probably left the camera there when she was in Charles' apartment early in the season to keep watch on him and make sure he stays safe. And none of that has anything to do with Sazz's murder.

This is kind of a lame theory, but I really was struck by the clue of Howard eating the Christmas cookie. I really think that was a good catch. But, I also noticed how big a deal they made it in this episode that Rudy was lying about having an ex-girlfriend. Perhaps maybe Rudy and Howard are seeing each other? And maybe that’s why Howard had the Christmas cookie? I feel like it would be a completely useless plot thread, but it was just another connection that I made that could explain that. Also, on that note, if Rudy really didn’t have a crazy ex-girlfriend, then why was Anna acting so possessive when he brought it up? Were they just playing characters, flexing their acting skills? It felt too genuine for a completely made up story.
