I played this game a lot. I managed to beat every single map. There are also some easter eggs. Very cool for a low end Amiga. I think he turned off the battle animations. I remember them swinging weapons and hitting each other, before diyng. Also you can click on auto-battle if you are about to have an easy fight.

Great Video on Celtic Legends. I hope you keep playing for a couple of episodes. I've been playing this gem on and off over the last 33 years. If you need a tip on how to conquer that island at the end of the video let me know ;-)

@@CopperPlaysRetro The Cyclops in your Starting Party slows down the entire party to 50%. If you split the party in the beginning you lose an entire turn of movement too. So following that 1 unit of Sogrom is no option,. If you followed it with the cyclops remaining in the party Sogrom would have summoned too many oppsing parties until you get to his castle and stone circle. The way I always beat that map is by hiding in the castle up north (turtleing), summoning 2 or 3 additional Magicians, gathering as much experience with Eskel and those magicians and accumulate 2000+ mana over time. Once I get to that point I split my party, move at least 1 experienced Magician who can summon more higher tier troops out and move south the next turn the moment there's a gap in the ever flooding opposing forces. When I get to a grassland tile I build another castle (hence the 2k+ mana) at which point Sogrom will only ever attack the southern castle so you won't have to leave much of a garrison behind in the northern castle. I call it stepping stone strategyx ;-) Hope this helps

@@kellerkind6169 Ah I didn't notice the movement changed depending on what units you had! Thank you

@@CopperPlaysRetro I just replayed that island and came up with another, more aggreessive, way to approach it. You can also split the party in the first round, leave the cyclops behind, move forward with the remaining characters, head for the southern castle. In my test game Sogrom did neither claim the castle nor the stone circle (cromlech). I got attacked half way down south by one of his parties, but managed to stay alive. Eskel can't summon any higher tier units but Lord in the beginning btw. You've got 2 magicians from the start, which you should try to keep alive to level them up. They're likely reach magic level 8 before Eskel does, at which point you can summon in more mages.

One of the games I dreamed of playing as a kid (another one was Storm Master:) ). Not a bad game, but can't really compare to games like Dune or Civilization 1. :)

@@WojciechRodzik Storm Master is an interesting game. I’ve yet to try Dune or the original Civ, will do soon!

@@CopperPlaysRetro Pro-Tipp: Use the GOG version, it runs stable and is comparatively bug free compared to the Abandonware version. If you know Colonization or Civilisation, you'll probably find you way around intuitively (after all, it's from the same Developer), but reading the Manual might help either way. MoM is huge and doesn't hold your hand.
@CopperPlaysRetro6 күн бұрын
@ Thank you for the tips, I think GOG usually includes the manuals as well which is nice

@@CopperPlaysRetro Yeah, I checked, you get the manual and the spellbook as well as some charts for technology advancement. Have fun, I'm looking forward to the video...

@@CopperPlaysRetro Of course i'm talking about the old DOS one, the modern remake is not bad also. Wish this game could have a sequel as well.

@@CopperPlaysRetro If you need an idea for future content. Try Dominus (1994). It was a good strategy game too.
