People have apparently everything and do nothing, and he is doing the most with what he's got. It puts things in perspective.

For most people in this category (have everything and fail to do anything) this is really just an appearance. Most people who struggle in life like that, have a reason. Perhaps they didn't have a supporting family, they were neglected or abused and the trauma gets in the way of their ability to build a life they enjoy. What we experience in relationships during childhood is important, it is most important. Feeling safe and supported gets you further than being great at algebra. In the 1950s people with down Syndrome had a life expectancy of 10 years.

Special Olympics is a fabulous program. I am a basketball official and I volunteered to ref the state basketball tournament for Special Olympics last year. It was the most fun I have had on the court in 100s of games. The athletes worked very hard and took the games very seriously.

This is such a wonderful documentary very inspirational got me smiling and tearing up a bit. Also, I get the father is trying to teach his kid responsibility but I don't think it's right for this kid to be picking up after other people... seems like they are taking advantage of him. Also kids with down syndrome cannot enter school talk about injustice! so very wrong and unfair. I hope since then that "law" has changed.

Your not a good coach !!!!! So hes needs a better coach for him. My daughter is an iceskater also and believe her coaches would not talk to her like that.
