Wow you have been throigh a lot! I had my braces on for 6 or 7 yrs in grade school & I thought I went through a lot but my procedures were nothing compared to yours! Just know it will all be worth it in the end because you are taking great care of your teeth! I didn't wear my retainer & now I need braces again! I'm thinking Invisalign this time.

I’m doing Invisible aligners, actually Smile Direct Club. So far so good but I’m not prepared for any further procedures I might have to to afterwards 😬.

At 43 I'm contemplating braces. My parents have perfect teeth but I'm a finger sucker and i feel like it's affecting my speech. One issue I'm concerned about is other issues arising from getting braces. Thanks for sharing your journey. It's helpful to us who may be headed to braces.

*I'm having the exact same problem with my gums right now.* I had my frenectomy about a year ago and it was successful, but when my gap sealed recently it squished the gum inbeetween my front teeth together so now gum covers a lot of my front two teeth and it hurts to close my mouth because i bite into the gum behind my front two teeth with my bottom teeth. I'm thinking of getting the gum contouring procedure but I'm only 14 and got my braces under NHS and am not sure if the NHS will cover costs for the contouring procedure. Does the gum contouring procedure hurt and is it expensive?

I wanna say I paid about $300 out of pocket. My insurance covered the remainder.

My son is 11 and has a gap. he loves it! He has braces and will be keeping his gap. You can do both.
