I wish I could come work in your shop and learn from you how to take care of all the different plants! Learning so much from you and your videos are always pleasant to watch. I find the most effective way to get rid of ants is to put bait traps out, where you put the bait near their nests or on their paths. Then they carry the poison to their nests. I don't know if you have this product in Indonesia. I put the traps under bricks so the rain can't get in. The trick is to get to each nest in your space as they pop up. I have no ants anymore. Also maybe store your mother plants at home and keep the shop space for propagates? All the best for your shop!

For aphids, if you could go out and catch some ladybugs in some bushes, and bring them to your nursery, they will take care of the aphids for you. I did some with my plants and the ladybugs stayed over for couple of days and I don't see the aphids after the ladybugs left. :) Cheers !

Maybe I should get some manlybugs to attracted them ladybugs 😅

my mom would use a home made anti-aphid spray of 1:1 milk to water and I swear they leave! I've had my Shefflera outside and aphids attacked it, after spraying with milk-water they were all gone. This doesn't make sense at all, (I'm a chemist, milk should not have a anti-bug effect and in only works on aphids) but it's worth trying.
@truonghongnhung3 жыл бұрын
@@horace6851 I have to admit it sounds very scary, :))))))
@horace68513 жыл бұрын
@@truonghongnhung :) it does, but a lot of organic pesticides are based on insect hormones, maybe something in milk imitates "danger" to aphids. Idk, I'm a scientist, so do not usually go for "old-wives" methods, but if it works it works ;)
@truonghongnhung3 жыл бұрын
@@horace6851 It does sound interesting at the same time. I will give it a try if I find any aphids on my plants. I am a bit afraid I admit hahaa, but since it is diluted then I guess it would be ok.

FYI about rat poison. Owls and other raptors as well as foxes and other animals, even homeless dogs, eat rats, so when you poison the rats, you are also poisoning all those other wonderful animals who hunt the rats. Rat poison kills by internal bleeding, so it is an extremely painful and horrible way to die. Please consider a catch-and-release method next time where you can just catch the rats and release them far away from your home. They sell traps like this. This will ensure that no other wild animals suffer and die such a horrible death. Thank you!
