Pound out more of the upper area of the mesh and the corners. It’ll lose up the channel and break in all of the mesh holes allowing it to be almost game ready. You’ll still have the hold you want and it will have the consistent release your looking for.

Hey if you need a bunch of side wall string you can order spools of sidewall from ninja lax thats where I get my stuff from and it’s about 17$ for 300 ft of nearly any color you want so it you do it a lot I suggest getting one of those
