This what some people will call a digimon clone seeing as that the magical animals/monsters can talk and most humans (except for Yakumo) only have one of them as a partner. The similarities mostly end there though since the animal/monsters are called 'shikigami' and they make contracts with humans where they fight for the human in order to make their wish come true. One needs a 'drive' (the devices the humans hold) to summon the shikigami first to make a contract and from that point on to fight (what you see in the video are the shikigamis entrance summons for the battles). The drive is also used to cut 'In', motions made by swinging it in directions, so the shikigami can use there attacks called 'hissatsu'. Humans who have a shikigami are called toujinshi. All this stuff and the shikigami are based on Japanese traditional stuff like onmyoudo, taoisme, yokai etc. The story takes mostly place in present day though and follows Riku a timid boy who wasnt aware of shikigami until his grandpa gets attacked by a toujinshi and his shikigami. In order to help his grandpa Riku ends up activating a drive and make a contract with the shikigami Kogenta. Turns out the enemy toujinshi is part of the Chi-ryuu faction and Riku of the Ten-ryuu. The Chi-ryuu faction seems up to no good so Riku is searching for other Ten-ryuu members and new In to learn since he only knows one and thus Kogenta can only use one hissatsu at the beginning of the series. Oh and when a shikigami gets defeated in battle the toujinshi it was partners with loses his/her memories from the point they made the contract with their shikigami. So if you've been partners for a long time you wont remember anything or anyone you've met in for that period of time.

Riku Tachibana will be absent and he will not be appear because Riku Tachibana was died causing Kogenta to be alone but Kogenta will never be alone without Contractor Riku Tachibana Here's White Tiger Kogenta meets Tarma Roving and Raiden and then became a team along with White Tiger Rangetsu, Fertiline Nene, Blade Wolf, and together, they'll save the world from evil!
