You have no idea how helpful this video is. I’m looking for a second video camera with my c200 and I’m in between the R5/A7siii and 1DXmkiii this video is so helpful. Thank you for this info. 🤝

Great video! Im in exactly the same boat. Just ordered the R5. Upgrading from 5D4 with bunch of L lens. Will run the NinjaV. Did not know you can still overheat it on HQ mode externally... Have any updates with your usage? Thanks!

I’m debating between 1DXii, 1DXiii or R5. Which one would you pick?

Would you recomend the R5 to somebody now? I know the R5c is comming out but worried that I will want Ibis more. I dont think that I will over heat the r5 as I mainly want it for photos but short mtb clips. But also dont want to have the over heating problem. Was this video before the firmware update? many thanks for your help. Your work is stunning

Great video! Thanks for the info. Curious if you've been able to compare the RF lenses to you EF lenses in terms of IBIS. If so, how big of a difference is the stability? I'm waiting for my R5 to come in and debating which direction to go. I like the Canon Variable ND adapter for the EF lenses since I shoot a lot of video. But the stability on the RF's I've seen (especially the 24-105mm) was impressive.

Great review, I would like to hear more about the codec workflow in your next video if you do include it. Also do you think getting the external battery grip would help balance the weight of the ninja v?

Great video!! The only thing is with my Atomos I can shoot for hours in 4K HQ without overheating.
@HenryOrtlip4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Is your screen on or off when recording?
@picxlproductions4 жыл бұрын
Henry Ortlip I have it timed to shut off at 1 minute or so. 4K HQ 24, I do take out the memory cards. Even though now I don’t think it matters but the CFexpress card gets hot.

PiCXL Media thanks- for me with the screen on it will shut off around 30 mins. For the work I do.. I need the screen usually. Good to know though! 👍🏼

I've heard others bypass the 4k HQ overheating when sending to Atomos simply by removing CFExpress B cards

recording using an atomos ninja V fixes the 4k hq overheating (if you remove the internal memory card).............HOWEVER at that point minus will just buy a Sony a7siii, or could go the canon c200. also if you don't mind using Sony catalyst post stabilization, than the Sony image stabilization can get better results than the canon (requires use of catalyst)

Upgrade your firmware to v1.1.0 and when you shoot external 4k30/4k60 to the Atomos, remove your memory cards. I doubt you see record limits based on heat ever again. Even if you don't upgrade firmware, if you remove the memory cards you'll likely get 4 hours or so at a time.
@HenryOrtlip4 жыл бұрын
I have done tests with the memory cards out and the record limit was still 30mins externally for HQ. I’m sure the update will help that time limit.

@@HenryOrtlip Interesting. Check-out No Life's video on it. He has done extensive testing on it.

@@dadstalktech I had already viewed everything he had said. I was on a professional shoot and the HQ mode overheated at around 28 minutes externally with no card in the slot. It caught me off guard, I expected the 4 hours as he tested. So I had to pause the interview and switch over to normal mode, I was heated along with the camera. I'm not saying he is lying, but facing a camera against a wall for hours is a much different test than using it on a real shoot, with real subjects. I went back after the shoot and did my own tests. It was around 30 mins again. Hopefully this new update improves the time, I will have to test it myself to know for sure this time if I can trust the timelimit. :P

@@HenryOrtlip Really strange. Gerald Undone got 42 minutes with 4k24... Hopefully, the firmware makes a big difference for you.
