Very good review! Congrats! As a HAT-AS owner, can tell you that at 1.83 m and the low position of the seat I do not get too well down. In my opinion: great bike, it feels a bit heavy, especially full tank (243 kg + 24 l)!

The traction control is adjusted independently on the 2018 models. That's why there is a separate traction control button on the left side of the handlebar. So if you put it on 1 or 2, it should stay at that setting even when switching riding modes. I don't understand why the gravel mode adjusts the power down though, since the engine only outputs 95bhp.

For us on off-road the best setup was what you saw in User: P1, EB1, T1or2, rear ABS of course OFF.

Top review mate, I have a DCT and wanted to know what the difference was and now I know the 16-17 is still a better bike for a short ass.

After more than a year: - I changed the sadle with a medium size; now is better! - off-road protection is insufficient: after a not too serious drop, the left motor cover was scraped! The only serious consequence! I changed OEM crash-bar with Heed Crash-bar!

Will the 2108 models hold the settings in the various drive modes after shutting down and restarting? My understanding is the early models have to be reset after every restart. Thanks

The “T” is torque and not traction control, that’s why it’s on high when on gravel mode.
@PragmaticTornado
@PragmaticTornado 6 жыл бұрын
You're kind of right, as it is called the "Honda Selectable Torque Control", but it's just a fancy name for Hondas traction control. The lower the number, the more wheel spin it allows. I usually have mine on 2, which lets me slide it sideways on gravel roads (you have to really get on the throttle for it to interfere then). If you have it on 5 or 6, it's extremely intrusive; might be good if it rains down buckets.

Hi. I'm thinking about Africa twin or ADV Sports. I often ride on seccondary road, twistes, one of the year some longer trip, light gravel, etc. No highways, No offroad. ( To really offroad I have KTM SXF ]:> ) I have 191cm and 105kg. The question is : Witch one will be better for everyday ridding ? Standard or ADV ? In your opinion ? Is really need to pay allmost 20% more for ADV ? Btw, great review :))

Why you kept base model next to the atas? Like decoration? As well, atas has higher screen and doesn’t mean better wind protection if you know that the seat is 5cm higher than on base model, right?! I appreciate your effort to present well, but you missed some basic information. Cheers :)

I spoke about the innovations of the 2018 models, which are all true for the basic one as well. The wind pritection is much better on the Adv Sports for the upper and the downer body as well. It's sure!
