Just a correction...there is NO beach at sites where 191 etc is. Is just a public road to a small parking area.

Is there any caravans to rent in Desember
@AfricanCampsiteReviews
@AfricanCampsiteReviews Жыл бұрын
Hi Pat Unfortunately I’m not aware of any companies providing rentals. Maybe you can call the park to find out if they know of someone or of a permanent campsite that is set up for rental. There are a few permanent ones there

Hi Samuel Not that I am aware of. The entire site is fenced and there is 24hr access control at the gate

We went there for my birthday in May and we got robbed. (Everything on personal camera). The weekend was ruined as we had the police coming in taking finger prints etc. It wasn't the only event that night. Others got robbed. The manager asked us not to share it on social media (last year August we had the same problem for my husband's birthday with more than R1000 in value stolen and I let a review on Google that affected them apparently). I feel it isn't ok to let people think it is safe when the 2 times we went there we got robbed. (No violence thanks Lord). Otherwise very nice and clean place. The security issue is really a downfall though.

Over the years I've never heard of anything violent. Camp is fenced and gates locked at night and there are security patrols. But this SA after all, thieves can scale fences or hide inside before gate closing so lock away expensive items.

Another bonus of the non electricity point sites they are cheaper and you do not pay the electricity usage fee. So few hundred rand saving a day
@AfricanCampsiteReviews
@AfricanCampsiteReviews Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. If you have solar those sites are in my view always, cheaper and less crowded.

Ahve never been able to understand how a piece of land that forms part of public owned facility, built on public land with public funds can be privatly owned.
@AfricanCampsiteReviews
@AfricanCampsiteReviews Жыл бұрын
We’re not sure either. As long as we can enjoy the camp :)
@leonapeplouw4892
@leonapeplouw4892 21 күн бұрын
Good day. It is not really privately owned. As semi-pernanents, we sign a contract with the Municipality & pay quite a heavy annual tariff. Transfer of ownership also takes place through the official channels.
@hvr1874
@hvr1874 21 күн бұрын
@@leonapeplouw4892 R40k per annum is not a heavy tariff, that is equivalent to what you wil pay in property tax if you owned the land. And also what that stand will easily make in a year in just the peak season. I will give that to Onrus that it is not as bad as other public campsites where up to 80% of the campground are "semi-permanent" houses. In any case this should never be allowed on public municipal parks.
@leonapeplouw4892
@leonapeplouw4892 21 күн бұрын
@hvr1874 It depends on how.much money you have, I guess. It's gone up double from what it was. Considering it mostly gets used 2-3 times per annum during peak season. Most pensioners cannot afford such heavy tariffs. Also, the Camp has many rules for the semi's so you can't just rent out.
