Looking fwd to "Raise the Black". When in the heat of the battle, I too forget small \ minor rules that could change the outcome of the battle.

Awesome!!! Games like that one are why I play B&P. If you watch carefully, it doesn't just go to autopilot, even at the very end. Working to get those extra fatigue, making sure to secure the decks and activating units in the right order; that game was a nailbiter the whole way through. All for naught in the end though, haha! I won't spoil anything for those who haven't watched until the bitter end though.

Really love these videos of game play for Blood & plunder! I like the BIG use of the pistols in closer ranges...interesting. Would really like to see a multiplayer game play out and explain some of those mechanics. If it takes too long, at least a few turns would be awesome! Also would like to see a break out of points spent; leaders, troop types, ship, cannon, etc. I try to re-create the game play here, but it becomes a lil difficult to figure out what the point count was. With the Black Beard figure in the game, when can we expect to see the next expansion of the rules? I know...lots of questions; I see Nate is playing with a generic B&P card deck, are these still available to buy?

Sorry for the late reply, but I'll answer what I can. First I'll answer to the effect of the game in play - Nate's faction is using existing units but is otherwise new, so I'm not 100% on what he's got. Judging from Mike's army though, they seem to be playing at 200pts. He's got: 15pt commander 36pts of Sailor Musketeers 16pts for each unit of Pikemen 28pts for each unit of Sailors on his guns He's running a Brigantine, with 4 pairs of Light Cannon and 6 Swivels = 78pts This actually sits him at 207, so my guess is that one of those sailor units has downgraded to not have pistols OR he's only running 4 swivels. OR, since his list is already illegal (Pikemen are support and only 1/3 of your units can be support) they're just playing with some wiggle. With Blackbeard, you can expect to see the next Kickstarter expansion some time in Spring 2020. They're gunning for March, but they've got a lot of balls in the air right now so I'm not gonna hold them to it. Nate is indeed using the generic cards. They are not available directly from Firelock at this time, which is a shame. You might be able to find them on some 3rd-party seller sites, from the early days of the game. The next most generic set right now is probably the Unaligned set, which features a skull & bones design. There are several different ways that Multiplayer or 'Army Scale' games can work, actually. You have the choice of players just activating with the cards, highest card winning and activating as normal. That can take quite a while though, so to speed things up, you can have players activate ALL of their units on a single card, or multiple players on the same team activate 1 unit each per card, etc. And yeah - close ranged pistol fighting is DEVASTATING in this game, as you can probably tell from the video. I like it because it really gives a lot of choice; you can either shoot your pistols before you go in, which can reduce their reaction attacks and gives you 2 attacks for 2 potential Fatigue checks, OR you can use the pistols in combat and have a better chance of inflicting damage. OR you can have a brace of pistols and do both (but you gain a point of fatigue for shooting twice in an activation) I'm glad you're enjoying the game!

@@SlyBlu7 Thanks for the reply! I was kinda figuring a 200 point per side as well. Looking forward to the next Kickstarter as you mentioned, with the Blackbeard figure. That will be an easy sell for sure. I bet the generic card would sell well too. I know I would buy at lest 2 decks easily. I read out the various multiplayer options, but its always good to see the creators play...as they tend to add or explain out certain things...great way to re-enforce the play and encourage multi-player games. Again, thank you for the detailed response...now to muster up some crew for the game.

How did I miss getting my hands on a black beard miniature? I thought that Blackbeard was going to be in their golden age release in plastics?

It is in a future release in 2020

Looking likely that we'll see Blackbeard in 2020, but depending on how they move these models, could be as late as 2021. There hasn't been any official announcement yet. He'll be metal, however. There's a chance that the units for that expansion will be done in plastic, as I understood it.

Join up the Facebook Group - 'Blood & Plunder, Buccaneering Across the Spanish Main' - and ask around to see who's in your area. They're represented at most of the big US conventions, are there are guys in Europe running regular games as well. Its an excellent system, loads of fun!

Great looking game, seems a little rule clunky towards the end tho
@SlyBlu74 жыл бұрын
The end got a little messy just because a lot of edge-case situations kicked off and they were both making some mistakes in adjudication. They film a LOT of these games in a short timeframe and then spread out the release, so Mike had already been there all week, playing multiple games per day. Dude was tired, lol. Only 2 friendly units can occupy a section at once. When an enemy attacks from outside the section, they count as occupying BOTH the "outside" as well as the section that they're attacking. So in the end, they were pushing each other back and forth on the deck, and it became a little "clunky" as you say, because the rules don't require you to cram every model onto the decks during a fight. I think they lost track of where people were, a few times. Sea Battles are considered advanced play - this is a clunky as it gets, to be fair.
