Alan from Play Fusion teaches us how to play their newly released trading card game Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions.
This exciting new card game from the guys that brought us Lightseekers has launched today (2nd of August) at Gen Con.
The game launches with a campaign deck for each of the four Grand Alliances: Order, Chaos, Destruction and Death. Each deck has their own unique playstyle representing the nature of the chosen faction.
Like Lightseekers, Champions is also available in digital form on iOS and Android.

I have the founders and I love this game. Already played it a few times with my m8 and it was fun! I just need some clearing up on a few rules/card texts but its still a great game.

This looks like a fun little game! Im not too keen on the CCG (TCG, whatever u call it) approach but might get a few starters to have enough for two players to go.

19:01 - There was a mistake. The champions card states that 'this champions ABILITIES +1 dmg'. The Bloodletter card is a Unit. So it doesn't benefit from that buff :)

Nice presentation. I played my first game and look forward to many more. One aspect of the game that was not mentioned is the app and the ability to play with the app.

Should have slowed down and explained the movements more clearly and how the abilities are connected from one card to the other. Once the card is played I don't remember the ability and I got lost in watching them turn and play this and turn and play that... Looks fun though!

After watching this video, I really like the game. It is more tactical than I assumed at first. I hope there will be a digital version at some point, as that would be easier for me to play and I think it would do great on a mobile platform.

cartoon80s90s there will be. And if you get physical cards you can scan them into your online collection to use, but there is also going to be an online store if getting the physical cards is hard in your area.

Question if a unit has a "x" in corner one but also a heroic action can he play that action when he comes into play?

Hey i got a question. At 19:00 Chaos player deployed a Unit under Aspiring Deathbringer which states that while opposing champion is disengaged, this champion's dmg from ABILITIES is increased by 1. Guys added +1 to a UNIT dmg. Is deployed unit considered as an ability too ? Great game btw!

Whoops looks like we messed that one up! Well spotted, only ability cards should count as abilities...obviously we got a bit over excited! Really glad to hear you like the game though.

Thanks for the clarification. Big fan of the title.The mechanics are just amazing, truly unheard of.I wonder though how Play Fusion is going to support physical mode of the game ? I imagine tight cooperation with game stores, organised play tournaments (big and small) - all the healthy, motivating competition with cool prizes :) Could you shed some light on this matter ?

We've learnt a lot from our other game Lightseekers, where we run monthly organised play tournaments through game stores all around the country, during these events players can win limited edition cards and playmats as well as other goodies. Organised Play is going to be a big part of Champions too. I'm not really sure about the detail I can go into here, so I would recommend checking out warhammerchampions.com as more details on that aspect of the game will be going live in the next couple of days.

The game is downloadable on Android now, but currently all you can do is scan your physical cards. The game itself still isn't playable yet.

I believe we do have distribution set for Australia (though I could be wrong) it's just the Founders Packs that are an issue in this regard. I might be wrong but if you want more information it's worth visiting our facebook page as our team are really active over there.

A friend and I bought starters for this at Gencon, and honestly I wasn't very impressed. The included "detailed rules" are really poorly written, contradictory, and they don't include something as obvious as a sample turn. More importantly, I don't think anyone was asking for another blind pack collectable card game.
