I had to come back and watch this video again on the Ontario SP-10 Raider Bowie.. After watching your recent video on the Cold Steel Black Bear Bowie.. I had to know.. which one is really better! I think this video confirms it - The Cold Steel Black Bear Bowie survived the destruction test.. while the Ontario SP-10 Raider Bowie even though it did well and the edge held up fantastic.. it did not survive in the end. You even did a second test on another SP-10.. just to be sure.. and that one also failed. Cold Steel for the Win! Salute Joe X!!

If you think the black bear is a better or stronger blade then the sp10 i doupt if you understand knives geometrie and knife steels.. The Cold steel is for sure a great blade..but its more a machete with softer steel thats why it survived.. Its has a different heattreatment and geometrie.. You dont even can compare that blade with the Raider Bowie.. As a knife the Ontario Raider Bowie is then times better..and also more stronger.. I have both..the blackjack i sold. But its a great blade too..but just too soft..and that is why it survived..

@@sergeantdef.3572 If you knew absolutely nothing about either blade.. and only had Joe X video to base your decision on which one is better based on his destruction tests.. the Cold Steel Black Bear Bowie easily wins hands down.. just watch the videos on each knife for yourself.. and let Joe X destruction test be the judge! I own both.. so I dont really care about personal opinions.. I care about the truth.. and sometimes the truth hurts you fanboys. Keep thinking it is all about "geometrie and knife steels" when one is 1075 Carbon and the other is 1055 Carbon - both considered a mid-carbon steel.. or do you think 1075 carbon is sooo much harder than 1055..? Maybe you can also explain what is so vastly different about the "heat treatment" between the 2..? According to your thinking.. does that mean a "heat treated" knife in 1095 Carbon is automatically better than the SP-10 just because it is the "harder steel"..? lol That is the same mentality as thinking "just because a car cost a little more.. it is better and faster" - lol I collect knives, swords, and machetes of all types of steels.. and I am a huge fan of Cold Steel and ALL of their 1055 Carbon Steel products.. and I have seen much better more high quality steels snap, break and edge roll under conditions where 1055 did not.. so say what you want and think what you will. Joe X Destruction tests do NOT lie.. and he ran both knives through the same EXACT tests.. and the SP-10 failed horribly.. it is not rocket science.

Very tough knife. I had one years ago. It's not a lightweight knife. For a fighter it's very tough though. The edge held up amazingly. Not recommended for chopping though. It didn't made the wood chips fly to say the least. There's no weight at the tip. Then again, it's a Bowie, Bowie's are not made for that with their clip point, which is a stabbing tip.

I believe JOE X was testing the new 1075 version, since this video was 6 months ago. Ontario switched to 1075 about 2 years ago. If it comes with the MOLLE sheath with the plastic insert, it's 1075. If it came with the old Cordura sheath (maybe it was leather, I can't remember), it's the 1095 version. IMO, the switch to 1075 is an improvement.

So do you buy your own knives? I’d really like to know what you’re trying to prove? Other then you can break any knife with serious abuse. So what are you trying to prove? I hope companies aren’t sending you items for free, cause that would be dumb! Kinda like these videos. 😂

These videos are giving us a great side by side comparison of the fail points of a bunch of different common knives. Viewers can see which knives hold up to the abuse and when exactly they are likely to break. You clearly don't see the value in these videos but the rest of us think they are fantastic. So feel free to not watch. Great job JoeX!
