Of all the SP line the Marine raider bowie is my favorite hands down!!! Could you imagine if Ontario slept some canvas micarta handle scales on there and did it in 5160 blade Steel!!! Son
@DonnieBAllDay3 жыл бұрын
Shit son!!! That means they would go full tang over stick tang and that would be in my top 10!
@lynyrdthomason88343 жыл бұрын
1095 is superior to 5160 in overall performance. I totally agree with you on the handle. Not a big fan of the handle. Even though mine has held up through some massive abuse over the years. Now some CPM 3V steel that's another animal. Also another big step in price though.

Out of all the sharpeners I’ve tried, for me , the KME rules supreme. I learned free hand long ago but I love the fixed angle system. Started with the lansky and then finally wanted to go to the next level, it’s a good feeling when you can actually whittle human hair.

I was going to email you about how you would sharpen your models, like the preacher or maybe that pine cone knife, where they have such thicker stock than other knives. So something like a spyderco sharpmaker, field sharpener, kme, etc., which people would typically have. I'm green in the sharpening department, which is why I ask. Thanks for the upload, very interesting.

It is good for light chopping and whittling tasks for the price it is worth it lets just say it's no case xx bowie I've had the jack Pyke knife for a year now and used it nearly every day but if you use it well it won't let you down the smaller one is no good it broke the first time I threw it the big one is worth it for the price I would recommend. In America is there anywhere that sells them because the brand is English. I did test it out and it will hold an edge well and for a 3/4 tang it is pretty good.

I really don't get why you don't get a leather strop an some 1000,2000 grit belts for the 1x30 an convex the edge. As thick as the raider bowie is a convex on that would make it a beast. I'm just not into taking forever with stones anymore now I have a much better way and you have the same set up.
@DonnieBAllDay3 жыл бұрын
Convex has its place but not for what the knife owners needs are.

@@DonnieBAllDay I believe ya since I got my 1x30 everything I own is conveyed an scary sharp. I personally like convex on my choppers it seems easier to maintain and has lasted much longer on junk steel. I have a trail master clone it’s by Coleman didn’t hold a edge for nothing I conveyed now it hasn’t dulled yet. That would be a interesting video take and put different edges on some cheap knives and see what works best. It would definitely get my views. Soon as I get some flat bar I’m going to try it on handmade stuff. Take care bro 😎
