What Does It Mean To Be INFJ? The INFJ personality type, commonly known as The Advocate or Counselor, is one of sixteen in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). INFJs account for about 1-3 percent of the population. If you get an INFJ personality type, it suggests you're introverted, intuitive, feeling, and judging. Dominant: Introverted Intuition is your primary cognitive function. Extroverted Feeling: Auxiliary Introverted Thinking (tertiary). Extroverted Sensing is inferior. The MBTI test was designed to help people understand their own communication styles and how they connect with others. Knowing your MBTI type can help you better understand your mental processes and behavior, as well as adjust your interpersonal approach to various situations and people. 00:00 INTRO 00:22 10 The ability to choose their battles wisely 01:39 09 The disinterest in fitting in 02:38 08 Increased emotional detachment 04:07 07 The ability to see people for who they are 05:11 06 The ability to put oneself first 06:27 05 Refusal to adjust to others' wavelengths 07:45 04 The increased sense of worth 09:08 03 The decreased desire to "be there for others" 10:20 02 The absence of second chances 11:24 01 Unapologetic attitude towards their honesty ♥♥♥Help Us Serve You Better!♥♥♥ Show us love and support through our Patreon: www.patreon.com/ON_TRACK Do You Have Topics In Mind? A high degree of sensitivity in one's nature can make them very sensitive to offense when they are young (and even when they are older, if they are immature), especially because they love so fiercely and feel they get much less love in return. It is from this morass of pain that an INFJ has to fight their way out through logical analysis of their relationships in order to save their sanity. That is what causes them to evolve into the sigma.

a few years ago, I overheard my sister say to her adult son that 'I was difficult as a child' ! Now, I do understand why ! There was so much going on in our dysfunctional family, and I had to manage on my own, which wasn't easy, or fun ! And, of course, I knew/understood nothing about what was going on ! Am 70 now, and that was back when I was very young, and till I got out of the house ( but of course, my troubles only continued, as I had no idea/understanding about so many things).

@@joyreinhardt7621 My mother once told me that I was the easiest of her children to raise. ???? Another time, when she was mad at me, she said I was the most difficult to raise. No, my poor brother Jim was the most difficult for her. He had Aspergers and stimmed destructively sometimes when he was upset, and there was plenty to upset him. I was her confidente, though I did not volunteer for the position. She told me a lot of personal stuff that was not appropriate to tell a child, and it ramped up when I was 12 or 13. Boy. I don't think she shared any of that stuff with my siblings. It annoyed me for a lot of years that she dumped all that stuff on me, but it helped me understand some things, so I got some benefit from it. These sisters, eh? They think they know us so well. I have a little sister who thinks I am a lot like my mother. Well, we are both strong-willed, at least I am now, though I was mostly a wimp until my early thirties. I am nearly 68 years old. Such a venerable age. Ha ha! My mother and I, however, really have only the J part in common. We are good at keeping our house or office organized. I was a secretary. My family is dysfunctional. They all misunderstood and resisted my efforts to get us healed when I told them what they needed to hear, not what they wanted to hear.

Of course we sometimes feel bad when someone feels hurt because of us. We'll not often show that we feel bad though. It's better to hurt someone's feelings by doing the right thing than to do nothing and spare someone some trauma to their ego.
@faithworks217 Жыл бұрын
I feel bad if I was at fault when I hurt someone else's feelings. I have agonized for years even about an innocent mistake I made when I was six years old, and prayed for the person I offended when she was a little girl. But when I tell someone something they needed to hear, if their feelings are hurt because they are selfish and self-centred, I don't care. Their feelings are their problem. It was really liberating when I realized that my mother conditioned me to feel responsible for her happiness, that it was narcissistic of her to do this, and I didn't have to be locked into her feelings anymore. I still felt false guilt for a while, but I just ignored it and went ahead anyway with what I felt I should do. As time went on, the crummy feelings I used to get when I behaved contrary to her conditioning went away. I feel no guilt at all now when I don't deserve to feel it.

@@Missedya You could be right. I have thought of myself for a long time as a late bloomer. It astonishes me how immature I was in my twenties. It took a good swift kick in the rear to get me to grow up.
@faithworks217 Жыл бұрын
@@Missedya I was talking about maturity, not "growing up fast." Being robbed of one's innocence doesn't mature us. It sets us back. Paul Hegstrom (videos on KZbin) says that if a person experiences trauma before puberty, the flood of adrenalin released by it blocks the serotonin and dopamine that is released during puberty. We get addicted to adrenalin, which is why we make bad choices in friends and partners and get ourselves into messes. When we are upset, adrenalin is released. I was not molested before puberty, but I did experience trauma. The younger the person is when it happens, the deeper the impact. It's a myth that a person's bad experiences won't have much effect, if they were too young to remember. My father was a violent alcoholic. I don't remember the first 2 1/2 years of my life at all, which is how old I was when my mother left my father and I went to live with my grandmother. But when I did some therapy, during one of the exercises, the feelings came back of how frightened I was when my parents had a fight. My Mom remarried and I went to live with my parents when I was almost five. My stepfather resented having to look after us three older kids and that created problems. Not as bad as my father's problems, but it took me a long time to get over the resentment. Hegstrom said that soldiers experience PTSD if they experienced childhood trauma. Soldiers who did not experience it until after puberty tend to be more stable. A sigma INFJ is someone who is emotionally mature. Not too many kids are as emotionally mature as an emotionally mature adult. I don't think that most adults are emotionally mature, though some can put on a good act until you get to know them better.

I'll never entirely be a sigma INFJ--not if it means unforgiveness. I may not trust again, but I refuse to let others control my sanity and life.
@faithworks217 Жыл бұрын
The video did say that a sigma will forgive, but they will not give second chances because the person has shown them that they are untrustworthy. As you said, we can forgive someone, but never trust them again. Forgiveness and trust are not the same thing. I have often prayed for my ex-husband and asked God to deliver him from addictions and have mercy on him, but if he wanted to get back together with me, forget it. If I did that, he'd think, "I can do anything to this idiot and she will keep taking me back." He would have no respect for me and that would lead to mistreating me again. Also, not taking him back, if he thought he was deeply sorry for the past and wished he hadn't behaved that way, has the potential to teach him to be a better man. He would know that, if he gets involved with another woman, to never treat her the way he treated me, so that he doesn't lose her. In some cases, there is total reconciliation, but steps have to be followed. Repentance on their part, then RESTITUTION before reconciliation. In my case, my ex did some things that he can't rectify, such as taking off with my children when they were young and blocking me from having any contact with them for five years. He told horrible lies to make them hate me and not trust me. They were a mess when I got them back in their early teens. Now they are in their forties and my relationship with them has been fraught with difficulties and heartache. Their father cannot give me back those precious years I missed with them, or make up for all the difficulties I have had with them because of what he did to them and said about me. The best he can do is try to make restitution to them as a father, to try to heal them, but there is nothing he can do to make me trust him as a husband.

@@nwbest4336 Thank you for your sweet words. He got married again, but to a terrible woman. From what my kids tell me, it has been a miserable marriage, but they are still together over thirty years later. He wasn't a good husband to her, but maybe not as bad as he was to me. I don't know, but I do know that he has regrets over how he treated me and then left me when I told him he had to go to AA. His wife split on him for a year because she didn't want to look after my children, which they absconded with to another province right after they got married. When she wasn't there, he said to my son and daughter one day, "Your mother was beautiful." They were shocked because it was the first time he ever said anything nice about me to them. Also, when my grandson was five, after my ex moved back to BC, Connor's stepfather took him to visit his Grandpa. Connor said, "I told Grandpa about how much fun you are and he didn't want to hear it. He went over to the window and looked out, and I saw water on his face."

Being a sigma? I guess so. Since all points on point to how I see the world. People are more cautious around me, not because of fear but because they can't know what I would do next. I can read them easily enough, but they can't do the same to me. I gave them hints to what I'm capable of, though. So, for most part I'm being left alone to do my job, or if they have to deal with me, they did so with respect and equitability. That's all I need anyway. The peace of mind that I had since adopt this point of view is priceless. Its not all sunny and sunshine though, bcoz that would be unrealistic in today's world.
