Another great vid! I'm planning on changing the brake fluid on my Himy in the next few days. I've not done it before but hopefully it'll go ok. After watching this I might even give the anchors a bit of a clean too! Hope you and yours are keeping well and safe. Thanks for all the info, cheers.

If you have an ABS brake system it’s recommended that you never push brake fluid back up through the system from the calipers. Small amounts of particles that slowly settle down in the caliper (lowest point of hydraulic system) can get pushed back up through the system and clog the ABS solenoid valve which, you won’t know about till the ABS is activated and end up dumping the bike.

Air in the system , watch my bleeding brakes (LIQUI MOLY BRAKE OIL ) video. Also adjust your brake pedal height (you will find adjusters near the master cylinder )to engage better .

If your throttle wire is kinked anywhere it’s best to replace it . Otherwise they usually don’t need any kind of lubing for a good 10,000 kilometers. But will sure make a video on the same soon .

Hey Ben, really love your DIY videos and I guess owning a Royal Enfield does push one to get all the knowledge on the internet and start working on our own machines ;). Can you also make a video of the rear brake cleaning/maintenance as mine is squeaking really badly when pressed slightly and I have already cleared all the bubbles, got the pumping kit changed from a mech who told me that is the issue. Service center guys think its pretty normal and I had just changed the brake pads as well. Clueless now.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the acknowledgment dear friend. If it is squeaking it’s your break pads . RE outsources a lot . So you can expect different quality . But the break cleaner I use in this video will control the squeaking to a great extent. You will have to use it a lot more frequently though . Just a spray and squeaking will be gone for a good 100kms or so ( also depending on pad quality )

A really informative and very well put together video. I was planning to change my CBR250 front brake pads and was researching different options when I stumbled upon your video. I am still a little bit confused about getting sintered brake pads for my bike or should I go with the stock ones or ceramic ones (Vesrah). While researching I found - "ceramic brake pads can take the constant abuse of consistent race driving, they are not good for everyday driving. In everyday driving, ceramic brake pads rarely reach their optimal operating temperature. This can actually cause a decline in performance in the case of many vehicles and would end up being a waste of money", so removing them as an option. The sintered ones as per this video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYmcn4miqKeJh7s) gave a significant 25% better braking performance over the stock ones so I was convinced enough to go for them but then you are saying for general city riding the OEMs would be good enough got me thinking all over again. What are your thoughts on this?
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN2 жыл бұрын
i said the sintered pads take SOME TIME to get to max effectiveness/efficiency. And yes they are atleast 20-30% better than stock. The ceramic ones are equally good if you are into hard braking. braking patterns and styles vary with each rider . its a subjective matter.
@Amd1072 жыл бұрын
