The first thing the police should have done regarding the matter was to determine whether the issue was criminal or civil. If the latter, the police don't have jurisdiction. An aggrieved party will go to a lawyer or represent homself in order to enforce his/her constitutional right. When did the police become debt collectors? What has master/servant relationship, i.e, (civil) agreement between 2 parties got to do with criminality? What all of you did was illegal and unconstitutional. The guy who was unlawfully arrested can sue the police and Skitlord for damages (monetary compensation). Sentiment apart, the law must take its due course, not by doing injustice to another person.
