Ive only cooked two pies on this thing but Ill be using it again this weekend. I know it can get ripping hot! It caught me off guard on my first cook. The advantage of the Koda 16 is that its big and you can have different temp zones on your stone. If something is cooking too quick you can easily move it away. Hope that helps!

Btw, I also ordered a smoker tube which I will use in the Koda 16 with wood chips in order to add some wood flavor to the pizza: www.amazon.com/LIZZQ-Premium-Pellet-Smoker-Tube/dp/B06ZZRR7XD/

Thats a great idea man! Let me know how it works. All trial and error 😃👍
@ancientremains18144 жыл бұрын
@@jepgato6657 Hi bro, I got in touch with Ooni EU, and here's what they replied: "I'm afraid this wouldn't offer any benefit by adding wood chips into the oven, but I need to make you aware that by using wood in Ooni Koda 16, will not be covered in the warranty. Please find Ooni Koda 16 Manual & Safety Instructions here..." But you know what? I'll give it a try. The Koda 16 has no door. So there's no risk, we're just talking about smoke from wood chips in a slim smoker tube which will be placed in the very back of the stone between the elevated flames and the pizza. Any excessive smoke can escape through the wide opening of the oven. But what do you think about Ooni's "no benefit" claim??
@jepgato66574 жыл бұрын
Lol i think that’s false. Im sure they said that because if something happened to your oven, it would void the warranty. If you want a smokier taste i think it should work. Id light it then roll it over to the non fire side. Its essentially the same as putting it a gas BBQ. Might get smokey though 😃
@ancientremains18144 жыл бұрын
@@jepgato6657 Why to the non fire side? The smoke would escape too fast from there, wouldn't it? I would rather place the tube right in the middle of the back part.... But maybe you're right man... We'll see. Must be patient.

Awesome review. Would have been safer to just put it on the ground though. But I understand the height allows for a better view for us. There was one time I cooked with my Uuni Pro on the ground because of a really windy day 😂 Also, I find it better to use the wooden peel to launch the pizza and steel to remove. But it seemed to work out fine for you.
@jepgato66574 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching man! How do you like your Pro?
@originalchannel3214 жыл бұрын
Jepgato welcome man. Hope I wasn’t too harsh haha. It was a very good in-depth review. I love the Pro. I built a brick oven last year. The main reason I built one was because with the Uuni Pro, the flame was in the back (and on top if you get the rolling flame) and I’d almost always burn the pizza because I couldn’t see exactly when to rotate it. Also, I wanted to do larger pies and it was a bit tough to get a 16” in there sometimes. But it seems with the L shape flame it’s easier to see when to rotate and unlike the Uuni Pro it seems they may have made it a bit wider now. Honestly I’ve learned that a long fermentation or old dough is key, so I’ve been working on that for a year and have come very close to my favorite pizza shop and Italy. Of course having a thick stone and getting the surface and ambient temp hot is very important too for a quick bake, but even American or NY pizza is delicious with a proper dough, cheese, and sauce. These are solid ovens and gas is the way to go. Wood adds almost no flavor, but in a huge oven it’s nice to have wood and gas for massive heat. How do you like yours?!
@jepgato66574 жыл бұрын
Lol not harsh at all man. This thing is awesome. I love the convenience of. Turn it on and walk away! Comes in handy with having a baby in the family 😃👍

Jepgato ok cool and that’s what I love about it. I’m glad you’re loving it. Haha it definitely is a lot safer than wood and convent with a baby. I bought the gas attachment for the Pro too, but that L shape burner is amazing. How has it been with using the lower flame hack/workaround?
