If the issue had been that they just played poorly, then draft wouldn't have mattered and they still would've lost.

He said that in the long term the team needs to learn to execute certain playstyles so that they can use champions that will also give a late game advantage, even if they are more difficult to execute early game strategies with.

Yeah they are, though I think he meant as in their game plan with that draft was fine, what they were trying to do. They just needed to have maybe a top lane carry instead, or botlane.
