OOTB: HexGears X1 Pro a 65% 68 key 3 mode wireless mechanical keyboard from HexGears and Boyu

This board looks and sounds good out of the box. The layout is familiar, it's the same as my Everglide SK68, so I feel like I'd jive with it pretty well. Hard to recommend the Akko 3068 over this one, looks like this is better in just about every way.

Yeah, even with just the white LED, I'd pick this over the 3068 any day!

Hello, i am plannig to buy this keyboard. Have you done any mods to it and if you did, how did the mods change the keyboards feel?

I have modded it, but due to it having a steel tray mounted plate, the feel has not changed.

@@cenay3043 yes, I did get it to sound much better, I'm planning a video, I'm just currently in the middle of doing some remodelling, so it'll be sometime. I'm also working on a video that will be a list of simple mods that can be applied to practically all keyboards, but will primarily be focussed on improving the sound and feel of older, steel plate, trey mounted builds.

Hi. Thank you for all of the reviews. Could you please comment on the battery life of the wireless keyboard? I am still looking for a perfect keyboard that has instant wake like logitech g915 and long lasting battery.

I do provide the battery capacity, but many times, there are so many factors to take into consideration, like lack of LED or white only LEDs, Bluetooth version (of both keyboard and host), usage, making it difficult to provide an actual use time that would be objective. I'd have to use the keyboards only wireless, and each result would only be applicable to my situation, with variance. A rule of thumb is usually ~a week per 1000 mAh on an RGB keyboard with lights always on. If I do come across a keyboard that takes a while to wake, I will mention it, but all of the keyboards I've tested lately come out of sleep immediately. If you want wireless with long life, you can't go wrong with the Feker IK75, it has 8000 mAh of power, and I've heard of people getting up to three months of semi-regular use on a single full charge. It also wakes from sleep almost instantly.

@@MechKeyboards Thank you for the quick response. I did purchase FEKER ULTRA75 Gasket. I love the board and the long battery life. However in sleep mode, the knob doesnt work. In deep sleep mode (after 28 minutes), I have to wake the board with a key press and then another press to register the key. The logitech G915 doesnt do that. It registers the key instantly in deep sleep mode. Anyway, those are minor nuances. G915 would be a perfect keyboard for me if it can connect wirelessly to three devices.

@@MrDienkhanh82 odd, though I never use the knob to "wake" it from sleep, I can hit a key after 1 hour or so and the keyboard comes back to life. I am using the Pro, not the V3 or Ultra.

@@MrDienkhanh82 I wish the G915 was hot swap. I used it for about a year and then several keys died. I didn't want to solder it, so I gave it to a friend who is handy with a soldering iron. It didn't sound nearly as good as boards I've gotten since, but the long battery life was a perk for sure.

@@MechKeyboards I may give IK75 pro a try. The ULTRA75 is a prebuilt board. I didnt want to mess around with custom keyboard but may have to do that for the perfection keyboard. Thanks for the recommendation. The chinese brands have a bunch of variations so it is really hard to distinguish which is one which. Not to mention different sellers on amazon.
