I really enjoy it when you slow down the whole piece at the 6:00 mark and start grooving to the beat; you have an humorous and infectious style, and we don't see enough of that in music. Good job as usual!

Wow, all the way from Colombia! Hello over there :) This synth has a couple of synth engines and different effects on board that you can manipulate to create sounds. You don't need a program. But it can handle samples as well. You can record them live through the mini line in port - or load them onto the synth via USB. I hope it makes sense. Thank's for your support! I really appreciate it!

Your videos make me want to buy an op-1, but i'm sure i can't do the stuff you do with it! So for me there's no point in buying one! You git some serious talent!
@truecuckoo11 жыл бұрын
He he.. Well, in this particular video the audio is recorded in camera with a microphone only. Most of my other videos the audio is recorded through a line signal + a tad of the room through a mic.

Hey man ! I absolutely love your videos and your tunes. Very colorful and nostalgic at the same time. I'm starting making electronic music since a few months and you're one of the few persons that really motivates me to keep it up even tho everything I make is pretty much crap. I try to learn piano on the side to learn rythm and compose nice melodies. Well, thank you for being there and doing what you're doing !! Also, you definitely convinced me to get an OP-1, if I have money someday !

Cheers from USA cuckoo, I don't think I would buy this but I enjoy see what you can do with it. I'd love to see what you could do with a proper three octave virtual analog machine. I have an Alesis Micron that sort of reminds me of this in terms of a very small foot print workstation...decent little sequencer included. I also have the korg R-3, but it isn't as versatile. No sampling, but the Micron's the three osc engine is powerful and filters are great. I would imagine getting used to the OP-1 keyboard took some time.

Hi cuckoo! I ordered my OP-1 three days ago, and have been sating my synth appetite with your awesome videos ever since. If only I received a confirmation email on my OP-1's shipment... I feel as though the little guy is lost in the swedish-american matrix out there. Though, i heard TE has been bogged with the new website and release of the Pocket Operators. Either way, i'm overly excited for getting my synth so I can start making tracks as happily as you do. Did you have any problems getting your OP-1? Anyways, thanks :D Sorry for the rambles.

so the only way to sequence is tape? you cant sequence it and go back and edit notes?
@truecuckoo10 жыл бұрын
There are some cool sequencers too, but it's limited to one instrument at a time. Tape is audio recording, so no note editing afterwards.

hey cuckoo, can you give me some ideas of cheap synths/drum machines that you think sound great with the OP-1 ?
@truecuckoo11 жыл бұрын
Hey there, thanks for asking. Well, I'm not so familiar with drum machines. But when you say "cheap" I'm thinking you should check out the Korg Volca series. Judging by the videos they've got a fun sound, and they've definitely got an identity of their own. The best is always to go hands on. Good luck.
@indieclock11 жыл бұрын
thanks. stoked to get my hands on an OP-1. you've pretty much destroyed the idea that they're just "toys".

It's all about the music and the love you put into it. And yes.. the OP-1 is not a toy. It's definitely a serious, well thought through instrument... just a very fun one :)
