Amen to that! Buy a Rolex to impress others. Buy others to impress yourself. I can tell which I’d rather have! This, the JD quantieme blue Cote de Geneve, A&S Pyramid of Time, the Iconic Sixties series, something from HM&C, the UN Classico guilloché, something bespoke from RGM, etc. - those are real connoisseurs’ choices. All the bandwagon watches are good bangers but in the end, they don’t even begin to compare.

Depends on what complication you are going to buy. For PP, if you were to buy those need application (e.g. minute repeater), they would be hand made and thus more detailed. Otherwise, I would say both are at pretty much same level. You may also wish to look into FP Journe, a brand I would say at least at par to PP and AL
