OP PALADIN / ROGUE Build Guide: Baldur's Gate 3

Actually strong. Here is an OP PALADIN / ROGUE Build Guide in Baldur's Gate 3. This build is incredibly versatile, giving us the ability to smite 4 targets in one turn, as well as sneak attack critical hit. Heading into Bard gives us some great crowd control spells that we can cast as bonus actions with the band of the mystic scoundrel. That is an essential piece of gear for this build!
The two bonus actions gives us a lot of freedom to do a cunning action and a crowd control. This is a rogue version of the bardadin but we needed a way to get 2 attacks, and the bard gets more spell slots than the paladin. It just made sense to go this way with it, but you can level the paladin up to level 5 first if you are wanting to use this as you go through act 1. The bard just gives more bang for your buck at max level with their crowd control and higher level spells

If you want to use great weapon fight you can get phalar aluve dancing breeze or the other dex long sword from the creshe(can’t remember the name)

Torn between the rogue 4 levels or just going straight 2/10 paladin sword bard. Kinda like assassin for flavour with minthy but see how strong thief is, used it alot i love in the comments everyone here for minthara ideas, guess patch 7 got people on evil runs, grove having a bad time

This huge I'm gonna build minthara this way gonna have her with the 18 dex gloves and cats grace armour to get dex to 20 just bc im only lvl 7 rite now i can boost other stats up alot

Fantastic idea! I have Minthara as a Sporedruid in my playthrough because she’s from the Underdark but this would make sense as well!

I did enjoy this build and I am interested to test it. But I really don’t understand why sell it as a Rogue build. With three levels, sneak attack will be a smaller part of the damage. The addition of bard dilutes any rogue flavor that the build could have. Call for what it is: a bardadin.

I tested many variations of this and putting higher levels of Rogue made it weak. Higher levels of Paladin didn’t give us enough spell slots to smite and such. We get all the usefulness from the Rogue in here with sneak attack, proficiencies, extra bonus action and the cunning actions so it’s still a rogue build, I just didn’t want it to suck for you guys lol

@@JasonDunna I understand your point. But, even though you added a few rogue levels in this build, I wouldn’t call it a rogue build. It’s a matter of how we define what a X build is. Here I see the following problems: you used more bard levels than rogue levels; bard levels have, in my opinion, a tendency to overwhelm the rogue flavor/RP; sneak attack is secondary for this build (I’m second third edition player, for me sneak attack is one of the defining rogue mechanics). The last problem, is a 5e and BG3 implementation problem…

Just wanted to add that I really enjoyed this build. And I understand that my criticism is purely subjective and an opinion on how to name builds.

@@rodolfokatz5098I called this an OP rogue Paladin because it’s stronger than staying with just rogue levels which usually don’t add much after level 4. The main function of this build is to sneak attack and use our smites with that! Adding the bard gives us extremely useful crowd control and with the band of the mystic scoundrel we can cast them as bonus actions! Flourishes are also very useful if we can’t get into stealth AND the bard gives us invisibility cast as a bonus action!

@@JasonDunna yes, I find it hard to justify going more than rogue 4 if I want to maximize the power of my character. Nevertheless, I forced myself to go with a thief 7/ battle master 5 dual wielder in one run and it was extremely satisfying to be targeted by Ansur’s breath and take 0 damage due to evasion.
