OP07 Rebecca Decklist and Matchup Guide! Prepare for next set with Rebecca!

Hey Guys,
This list is one I have been working on for a while and have gotten a good amount of practice in preparation for the next set. I can confidently say that two new cards are great editions and if you watch at least the beginning part of the video you can find out which ones!
I hope you like the rambly kind of format for this guide I tried my best to talk about win conditions and starts for each of the matchups.

In case you wanted to see my last update for EB01 list, I made some last-minute changes last Wednesday and went 3-0 at locals with it. @@BorgesTCG No, I removed them to have a stronger mid game because of the number of Laws I was running into. I also just wanted a more consistent deck and it felt that when I had Moria in the decklist I was actually less consistent because I couldn't search him and often he got milled from leader ability or rebecca searcher.

Unfortunatly Enel has an easy way to 100% win this match up especially with so few Luffy : starvation into 8 costs katas -> luffies in the life will win him the game. Do you have something to prevent that ?

He can’t really starve you, you draw at least two cards a turn and clear his board pretty much none stop. While yes he can hold katas for Luffy, he then won’t be able to deal with Sabo super easily. If you find that your local meta is a lot of Enel’s or the competitive meta is a lot more enel you can drop the two gravity blades for another luffy and a Kong gun to give you a better chance in that matchup, or two more luffys if you prefer.

As for deck as is, kyros is once again our lead man, he is nearly impossible for enel to remove without kataing him into life, thus it sounds weird but establishing two kyros early is a good way to eat his cards early on. He will have to answer with a kata or swinging into you, if he can only develop 1 body a turn that is great and if you get to the point of multiple Sabos in hand and have the cost reduction ready don’t be afraid to 1 for one with him. Sabo naturally hitting 5 costs is really good and makes clearing big characters quite easy

I hear what you say but by starvation I mean 2 luffies in life and then let you deck out ! That's always what happens when I play test against Enel (or Kata, but Kata is not relevant in op7)

@@Rayvos12 You have two copies of mansherry, as long as you put one to bottom with Luffy and make sure not to mill both, you won't deck out persay, though you will run really low on cards.

But yeah if you are really worried about this, add in two copies of Luffy over the gravity blades and you should be fine

I personally think he is pretty bad, not quite unplayable because you obviously have some very powerful cards that are strictly navy. But he can not filter like the old one and thus will need to play more than just 8 searchers.

But he still has the potential to be good in the future if people take the time to build him and work out the kinks, I don't think it will be as OP as old Saka but he does have some potential to be decent because he is Blue/Black.

Get rid of tempest kick and replace it for 2 isho and 2 aramaki because once u have one on board it will make it harder for enel to attack and easier for u to KO or bottom deck. Replace all of ur 1 cost rebeccas for two 4 cost kuzans and two 4 cost puddings. Thes will be hella essential for the deck since pudding is a major game changer especially for law and gecko and enel. Kuzan is used as a second orlumpus since it minus 4 cost an opponent as well as drawing a card on play which another plus for we dont risk of trashing any issho's or any non dressrosa cards by using rebeccas leader ability. To add on more to that he can also be constantly drawn out by the 4 cost rebecca blocker. Those are the adjustments ill add since i also play rebecca

OPTIONAL : since there's no way in hell people are going to have a playset of secrete sabos u can substitute 2 of them for the 6 cost brook another perfect card to have since it places cards into trash so no worries about ko block effects and shit as well as it can be drawn from the blocker rebecca ability

I’m going to hope this is a meme because my god these changes do nothing but hurt the deck horribly. Adding 4 8 cost cards in place of a 1 drop filter card that also reduces character cost and has a trigger makes no since. Removing the search for kuzan and pudding is close to being reasonable, but it makes orlumbus less consistent, it doesn’t fill up your trash as well and it reduces the amount of counter cards in the deck. Now replacing just tempest kicks with kuzans and puddings I could see, I don’t really like the need for them but it’s reasonable. The other four card changes are pointless, issho isn’t needed if you have puddings, Aramarki is good but if anything you take out the gravity blades for him in this list.

It should be somewhat reasonable, he shouldn’t be a Katakuri costing secret, almost no list I have seen for Lucci or Gecko Moria are choosing to run him, also ace is the more hunted secret so I expect Sabo will be pretty cheap after the first week or two

All the cards you want to change you could but I do think you are taking out the wrong cards for them and I would recommend not including the isshos but instead using gecko morias. I have another list I can post for you that revolves around aramaki as one of the top-end win conditions.

@the_lord_nick One of the reasons for issho is because he is like a mini pudding, so it can throw of ur opponent a bit off but mainly for his ability for -3 cost every card in field. Now pair that with aramaki now u are buttoming 5 cost and pair that with other cards that minus toy soilder,arlumbus,kuzan,etc. Buttoming everything that's on board. And for ur trashing cards concern. You will be perfectly fine because rebecca ability trashes one card automatically, and aramaki ability trashes a card. The same goes for orlumbus,kyros,toy soilder,sab cav, and so on

I have a few gripes with Cavendish: (1) it has no counter. The law matchup is so volatile that if you hold just a few bricks, it quickly turns over your head. Even in normal situations, you can gauge how far you've fallen behind in the that matchup by which 7c card you can afford (if it even changes the outcome). (2) it's too expensive. Arguably vs Law, you will have no prior setup - meaning you're swinging a raw 6/7 on curve (with no effect), and in those situations Luffy and Gravity Blade will present as better options. (3) compounding on all of these, is its power - 6K. The statline is far too fragile against Law, and it often felt like I spent a good chunk of my Don just for it to be Gordon'd and then bottomed after swinging once. I'm running Leo and noticed they have the same statline (1c 2K that becomes 6K after putting 4Don under it), I will try to keep in mind in my games if being able to swing at active characters for 6 Don changes anything.

In my games cavendish has made a pretty big difference, both gravity blade and Luffy do make a massive impact against Law but they both cost seven which means they activate a turn later. And yes Cavendish does not always get to activate on his first attack to clear an additional character. But if Law has now used a Gordon it is less likely Luffy can be removed. On top of that Cavendish can still activate without a target which enables more cards to go to your trash and guarantee two Luffy swings the following turn. My current build for EB01 has been really consistent into Law because of Cavendish, Gyats, and Hajrudin. The list I posted here did remove both the Gyats and Hajrudins, which will weaken the match-up slightly, due to fewer counters being available but I think it is offset by how useful Sabo is on the 8 don turn. Cavendish is mainly a one-for-one removal card that forces immediate response, he also fuels our trash which sets up Kong Gun, Luffy, and Tempest Kicks. You can run the Leo, but the Cavendish adds repeated removal value over time and less don investment.

@@the_lord_nick Luffy and Gravity Blade doesn't come a turn late at 7, Cavendish comes in too early and then too late. If you are going first, Law spreads on his 4 don and only swings his leader. Cavendish on 5 is a sitting duck if you summon him this turn as he cant attack active and will only end up getting removed while you get swarmed. If you're even, you're swinging a 7K on a potential Kid blocker which takes even more priority to remove vs building your trash. None of these are ideal lines when vs-ing Law.
