I really appreciate that. It's hard to figure out how to compress all the info in a video and still make it interesting. I'm still figuring it out. I know you talked about that too in the dalmation portrait and your approach is pretty awesome Thank you Rob. @@dredfxcustompaint

This is coming on really well. I really like your style here. This painting is so good. I like how bright it is against the dark background.

I find there’s value in having a paint collection that has different opacities of the same color. For example, in phthalo blue I have transparent, semi-opaque, and opaque versions. I find I can just get right to the painting and do less mixing. I’ve mixed darker transparent colors with opaque white to alter opacity as you demonstrated with the scarlet, but using a scarlet that’s semi-opaque to begin with is a little more convenient. At times I also lay down some white and glaze on top of it. Ignoring cost and paint storage, am I missing out on anything by not mixing to create an effect with opacity? Am I somehow stunting my growth? Thanks for your channel and work. I’m a 3D miniature painter who has learned a lot through your work and I’m inspired to airbrush 2D stuff in the future because of you.

Hey thanks so much for this! I agree, I love having a range of paints with different opacities. No I don't believe you are in anyway stunting growth by going your own way. It's important to experiment and find what works best for you and to use the techniques you enjoy using the most. That's number 1 in my book. Find the techniques you love to use and keep going. You'll find that those techniques will evolve and change with you as you progress.
