The way it is now, Lagos is a country, no longer a state in Nigeria.

It has to be. It is a privileged state due to its history. This makes it special and should be given special status. Luckily, it has also had some very good and competent Governors. Not the Alao-Akalas and Fayoses.

Nigeria should stop buiding bridges only. The government should build more affordable high rise apartment infrastructures in lagos for the lower and middle class citizens to contain the population. There are hardly any building infrastructures except hotels, offices and banks.

Government should not typically get too involved in building such properties. What governments usually do is subsidise rents , purchase such properties that have already been developed competitively, or manage such properties, or introduce schemes that allow for affordability such as build to rent. However, government as the developer is usually problematic because they lack expertise and are thus more inefficient. In short, government should primarily make things EASIER for the private sector, as well as point them in the right general direction.

Funny comment! When you build high rise, what do you then use to access it? You should be telling neighboring states, lagos is congested, doesn't need more people again.

Very good and quite laudable. However, the Gbagada Diya Street Road to UNILAG that commenced about 4 years ago is another abandoned project

Lagos state, always ahead in everything while politicans in other busy fighting each other or their indigenes blaming the FG for the failure of their states. The excuses of a lazy man and a thief.
