Update. Airbag light came back, once so far. Next day it was gone, that was two days ago. Now screen is doing something strange. Heater screen is popping up randomly, all the time, for a few seconds, even if i don't touch any controllers. Might be something to do with automatic air conditioning, and can adapter (?). I should maybe try to do reset, but i'm a little bit afraid that the crazy ON/OFF loop will come back. 😊

Congrats buddy.. Nice video and I am glad most functions work for you. I am in the USA and have the Cascada Premium model(I believe this is like yours but US model). Hesitant since I can't find anyone to can say everything works with a particular model...

External mic is so much better than a built in one. Just take the time to install it. You will be greatfull you did. Much clearer to hear you on the other end of the line.

@@kaukolaDIY had the same issue with the radio i installed in my wife's chervolet spark. In the car you hear it fine. But i can hardly hear her. To much external noise. Really like this radio tho. In fairness a big factor in me wanting to buy an astra j haha. Just looks so damn clean.

Ich hatte auch Probleme mit dem Boot-Loop. Bei mir hilft es den Reset-Button statt einmal lang einfach zweimal direkt hintereinander zu betätigen.

You didn’t have to cut that plastic in order to fit the new stereo, the back of the stereo can be removed from the screen and moved up or down on the back

Really?! I didn't know that. I watched some videos on KZbin, before i started to install this screen, all what i watched, cut this piece away. Wow! That's a very good info for others. Thank you for that 😊.

@@kaukolaDIY oh don’t worry, I only discovered that after I cut the plastic myself, did you sort steering wheel controls? I’m awaiting a replacement unit as mine was bootlooping so I can’t tell you exactly but I found a second menu for binding the controls and they worked, in the settings menu in one of them where you need to enter a passcode to get in type 6666 and it brings up a hidden menu, I believe the settings for steering wheel controls are in there as the one on the main settings screen doesn’t work

I'm not that worried about cutting this plastic piece, good thing is, that I have more space for all the cables, like RCA's. What comes to the steering wheel controls, they just suddenly started to work. Once after I made a reset, again, screen went to this power loop mode, I got mad and gave up, next day I started the car, for some strange reason, everything worked. CAN box just started to communicate with the car.

I'm just installing this and remembered that the amazon pictures actually showed that this can be moved before I went on and cut the plastic, and I can confirm this actually fits if you move that to the top. Now I only need to figure out how to get the CAN bus working, which is not working for me either right now

Yes, this CAN bus was a mystery to me.. I reset my machine many times, and finally i pushed this reset button so long, that it went to this loop mode. I lost my hope, and stopped trying. Surprisingly next morning everything worked. I have no idea, what happened. I hope you will get it to work.

Hello :) I install similar radio two days ago but I can't hear my turn signals or reversing sound. To hear anything I need to keep the speaker (from set) close to me hear. It's impossible to hear any sound from this speaker during normal car driving. Do you know what might be a reason or how to fix it?

Did you connect this speaker to the CAN-box, which came with the radio? If yes, then it should work. From menu settings, i didn't find any volume adjustment for this speaker. My speaker is quite loud, i can hear it well, even if it's inside the dashboard. I have no idea, what could be a problem. Maybe you could try with some other small speaker, car speaker or something. Sometimes speaker's impedance might effect to the level.

Now it works fine. FM radio is bad, I don't know why, even if i installed an antenna amplifier. Luckily I don't listen radio, so I haven't figured out, what's the problem. I love wireless Apple Carplay function. Some CAN functions doesn't work. Steering wheel controls works, but information, like fuel consumption and other car info won't show anything. Unit is fast to use and it looks great. touch screen is good, but will scratch easily, sadly i didn't add protective layer, when it was new. I wish to have more audio settings, like level adjustment for subwoofer output, and better crossovers. But it's not a bad machine.

Hi I got a similar screen, but my android auto doenst use the full screen, do you know if there is a fix? Also, is it possible to make the radio to not to startup first? and last, when reversing my car shows a icon of a car with sensors, but my car doesnt have sensors, do you know how to remove that? That Android Auto problem is strange, i have only Apple Car play, which works fine, so i have no solution for your Android problem. In my version, radio will start first only, if i will do a full reset, but when i use Apple Car play, next time it will start in main menu, not in radio or Apple Carplay, i have to start Carplay everytime again. In factory settings is many settings, for example there i found a solution for my heating screen, which popped up randomly all the time. In the factory settings, i could switch that off. Might be, that you could find a switch for your sensor problem there.

In this radio model, no. It has only one button extra, trunk open. I don't have this feature in my car, so i replased it with empty cover, which was included in the package. I saw online some other radio models, which have more buttons.

When i installed my radio, i didn't disconnect the battery. Maybe it would be a good idea. When i was trying to solve some problems with the radio, i disconnected the battery negative terminal multiple times, to reset the system. In my car (2011), if i disconnect the battery, nothing much happens in the car, after connecting it back, i had to reset the system by opening and closing all the windows. Instructions are shown in the dashboard screen.

There is no need to cut anything!!! The multimedia back side is adjustable up and down and no need to break the car.

In "car lock set" You can set "Auto locking" when you start to drive, doors will lock after you reach a certain speed, or will all locks stay open. You can also set, if doors, and which doors (driver only or all) will open, when you pull the key out.

That's a good question. In this radio version what i have, is no support for lane departure warning button. I don't have this feature in my car. I tried to look online, but I couldn't find any "tesla-style" radio for Astra J, which support this button.

In the beginning, i tried to find that option too. In some of those settings is "logo" option, i can't remember now which, but i couldn't get it to work. I really don't need it, i use Apple CarPlay, and it will start quite fast, after i start the car. I also tought that i can change the color of those lower buttons to red, but i can't, those are blue. If someone knows how to do these, please let us know.

I assume, that you have everything else original? Speakers original, radio menu's balance and fader settings in the middle? All radio connectors are connected? If yes, then there is not many options anymore left, other than if there's short circuit somewhere and radio's internal amplifier is in protect mode, but then usually should all channels be muted. I would first check all the speakers, using ohm meter or 1.5 V AA battery. It is a little bit difficult to do, you have to take radio out, remove the speaker connector from back of the radio, find + and - cables for each speaker. Last option unfortunately is, that radio's internal amp is broken, which i don't think, because then all channels should be muted. I hope you can find a solution.

Nice 👍 at the moment mine works pretty good. I can't remember which setting i have, I didn't choose it, it was automatic. Only thing which doesn't work in my radio, is car infos, like consumption and stuff like that.

Those wheel buttons should work automatically. I had a problem with those, and after many radio resets, those just suddenly started to work. 🤔

Main screen is "setting" and there "general", "PhoneLink", "phone link application".. here you can choose carPlay or Android auto.. I don't know, if that will help.

I bought mine from Amazon.de. amzn.eu/d/7nHined But.. i have to say, radio reception is still quite bad, i just don't use radio. There might be also some "better" versions of these adapters, but is it getting any better, I don't know.

I don't know.. i found only name "Generic" on the radio, but I don't think that that's the real name. I bought it from swiss online shop: techstudio.ch. They don't have it on sale anymore, but the have some similar models, different name.

Anyone happen to have a firmware for Hiworld Opel Astra J ? I don't have an option to select any Opel cars...

@CarlosDaniel-nu4vu i have now "Hiworld Buick 168". I'm afraid to try something else :-). Everything, what i need, works. Apple Carplay and rear view camera. Radio doesn't work, reception is very bad, but i don't listen radio anyway. One thing which doesn't work, i can't get any data to the screen from the CAN box, no speed data, no fuel consumption and so on. Outside temperature works.

Im having an issue that i cant figure it out how to solve, sometimes the device it self wont turn on automatically.... I need to take the fuse out, plug it again and problem solve, it starts again, sometimes its enough to do it once during the day and will work well till the next day .. somebody knows what it could be? I don't have any easy solution for that, it should work straight out of the box. Mine didn't work. It took me multiple radio resets and battery disconnects. Suddenly, one morning steering wheel controls just started working. Try to press and hold reset button long enough, like 30sec.

@joeparker6264 in my radio, upper left side is three horisontal holes, i think for microphone. Under those, is a small hole, that's the reset button. You need something small, like a pen, to push it. But don't push it too hard.

I hope you radio won't go to "on off"-loop like mine. I almost lost my hope because of that 😁. If reset won't help, it might be also good to try to disconnect the battery for some time.

Does anyone else have a "problem" with this randomly popping up heater screen? I thought, that I can survive with that, but it is actually quite annoying in the dark, it's like a strobe light sometimes. In the dark, I have to turn the screen off, that it won't blink all the time. I guess some of these screens will get updates, but I'm not going to hold my breath for that.

Easy fix for this problem.. In radio's apps is "Car Settings","General Settings","Air Display Setup","Not Show Window"... problem solved. I don't need this window anyway, most of the heating adjustments won't even work with touch screen.
