The key fob in the vid must have already been taken apart once. No way you can do it so easily. Mine had to be literally destroyed piece by piece using several pliers, a small saw, a sharp blade and various other tools. Took 4 hours trying to avoid chipping the PCB...

Do they really come apart that easily? The Us market keys are press fitted and are permanent so if you are looking to swap the backplate out for a used vauxhall or Opel badged one you will end up with a destroyed key

Nope.... you have to destroy the old casing.

Under the Opel emblem there is a little screw you have to unscrew it or else it won’t open and also you must take out the pin

My key is not to open,you can be Rambo if you wish..no chance.Original key is glued so well under temperature.I try to cut a little bit with knife,to use a different pliers..no chance!If I force it a lot a am afraid to brake or damage chip inside.Help?

Okay, so I’ve just done this on my Vauxhall Mokka key, the key fob opens / unlocks the doors fine but I can not start the engine!! Asking around iv’e been told that there may be an rfid chip as well as the green circuit board, I’m 99.9% sure that there was only a green circuit board, any suggestions on how to get the key to start the car?

The actual key bit you have to knock the pin out and just swap the key thing and save only use the same barrel that came with the case

@@ajcgaming2276 I just replace the whole key thing, but not the pin, so I can start the engine, lock the car, but CANNOT unlock the car, so strange.

Il video è abbastanza chiaro, ma all'atto pratico il guscio non si riesce a smontare perché probabilmente dopo anni di utilizzo è bloccato. Può suggerire come fare? Grazie mille in anticipo ☺️

There is a hidden schrew underneath the logo. Use a knife to pry the logo off. Mine fell apart after that.

@@johntra8990 Most likely, two halves of your key have been glued with "super glue" or other glue. In many cases, car key specialists use glue. Try to use "acetone" and see if it helps.

You may need to use pliers. I even broke off a small part of the old plastic case, but since it's a waste anyhow I did not care. You have to be careful with the PCB though that it's not broken.
