Engine oil test at 100 ° C Opel GM 5W30 Dexos1 Gen2

What does the test show?
The friction test is to show how effectively engine oil protects the engine.
Metal elements in the engine during operation (friction, eg pistons) can lead to scratches and scratches. The better quality of oil, the better it should protect the engine before it is formed.
Each sample subjected to this test will certainly have some scratches (hollows). By measuring the sample, we will be able to check the depth of the groove.
How does the test work?
The new sample is subjected to metal rubbing against metal under a 2kg load for 1 minute. Then, the sample diameter is measured at its lowest point. Each new sample has a diameter of 2.92, from which it subtracts the diameters of the test sample. After deducting both dimensions, we will get a real measurement of the sample consumption. The lower the score, the better.

IMPORTANT NOTICE : For those who have a GASOLINE Opel turbocharged engine : Dexos 2 (based on ACEA C3) is NO LONGER ALLOWED because of LSPI risks. You MUST use Dexos 1 gen2 (no matter the brand, the important is that the oil respects the Dexos 1 gen2 requirements). Dexos 2 remains allowed ONLY FOR DIESEL engines.

Hej czy następca "generacja 3" jest tak samo dobry ? generacja 2 jest już niedostępna. Planuje zastosować go do transportera t5 benzyna silnik wolnossący 2.0 AXA 115km auto ciężkie a silnik nie za mocny dlatego przeciążony jak myślisz nada się ?

Very good Seems that genuine ../ original oil like... ford, bmw, gm, Toyota is much better than any brand of oil .. the lesson is simple ... buy original/ genuine oil for your engine .

John Spanishh You must watch all test to make that conclusion. And you have not I can tell. Also you have to watch burn test to see the long time quailty of the oil under usage. Oil does come out black for a reason.

Stop speaking about brands, it's pointless. It's just that the Dexos 1 gen2 norm is very good, very high standards. So any brand which manufactures oil respecting Dexos 1 gen2 will get an awsome result as well.
