Opel Grandland hybrid: POV drive & walkaround

The new Grandland combines a front wheel mounted 81 Kw electrical motor with a 1.6 4-in-line petrol engine. The battery capacity is 13.2 KWh.
This Opel Grandland hybrid makes a combined output 224 hp. The more powerful 4hybrid version has all wheel drive and a combined output of 300 hp.
And indeed it's not longer called the Grandland X, but just Grandland.

Actually it looks bad. You can see they went very cheap with facelifting. Because, those aren't entirely new headlights as in new Opel models (like new Mokka, which is not a facelifting but fully new cars). Grandland after the facelifting has the same old shape of headlights as grandland before facelifting, but with new insert inside the headlight assembly, that doesn't correspond well with outer assembly shape. You can see that outer corners of those headlights look awkward and empty. Actually pre-facelift headlights were better, more coherent.

Love to see this either imported to the U.S. as a rebadged Chrysler, or better yet built in Chrysler's Canadian plant alongside the Chrysler Pacifica minivan. Love this car! Hopefully, PSA will have the good sense to do just that because FCA is too stupid to see beyond RAM and Jeep.

Interesting how this petrol model gives 360 nm of torque, when normally it's diesel models that have that specification. Normally petrol gives 280.

Sport mode in a 1.6! Fuck that. Get an old insignia mk1 even the stock Sri is 2.0L. Vauxhall where better with gm not Peugeot

@@johnnypovdrives i could say this Opel is poor mans peugeot.from corsa/208 to 508/insignia.(208>corsa 2008>mokka 308>astra 3008>grandland 508>insignia and even rifter>combo)hope it helps and this is both design/material quality and ride/comfort wise. It is just simply worse,in every possible way.

It’s actually got more equipment than new 3008. AGR seats as standard in Alcantara. Power boot as standard on ultimate model.heated screen and steering wheel, not available on 3008. 360 degree camera system, not on 3008,19 inch wheels no longer available on 3008. LED matrix he’d.ignorance not available on 3008. Power socket in rear of car, no longer on 3008 and I use mine a lot for my cool box. I should know as I have had a 3008 GT Line Premium for 4 years and wasn’t happy the new one misses out on so much so have ordered a Grandland Ultimate 1.5 hdi eat8 so I keep what I am used to. So I think you really do need to update your opinions and check one out.
