To answer some other comments, the Kadett name was kept in South Africa for the hatchback models, until the end of this series. The Astra name was used for the sedan. Some useless information for some, but the 200TS car was first released in 1994. You can spot the different between 1994 and 1995 by the side mirrors. For the TS, the 1995 model came with a new lisence plate holder on the front to raise it out of the way of the air intake. The Astra was also released with a black leather interior in 1995 only. The engine, gearbox and wheels are from the Opel Calibra 4x4 in Europe. For use in the Astra/Kadett, Delta corporation in SA converted the 6-speed Getrag gearbox to 2wd and fitting a limited slip differential. The engine management system was actually the original Bosch Motronic with very little change for SA. If you know your TS specs, you can tell the fakes. Red needles on the instruments with speedo going to 280km/h were unique for the TS models. A truely amazing car. Sportscar performance but running normal sparkplugs, filters etc. I bought one new in 1995 and drove it for 9 years. The best car I think I ever had. I still miss it.

Kadet - a,b,c,d , astra - f,g,h,j,k.. in Europe. We don't have 4 door astra f with GSl package...
