I've owned emerald physics with this concept. I don't like how it's dipole up to around 1 kilohertz and then monopole up from there. Now I own Clayton Shaw's M3 turbo spatial audio speaker. I have switched out the Twitter with a 4-in tang band driver and is completely dipole now and sounds much more natural.

They look really amazing! A technical question about placement, what if I place the open baffle speakers a long way from the back wall, say 5 metres or so, potentially the sound from the reflection on the wall becomes irrelevant, could they still sound good?

4:07 You say this is JUST the baby baffle ie a 10 inch only... no bass drivers, but in a clip just before it at the back someone said it had the 18 inch woofer connected too at 2:30 point also. Please clarify. If a 2 way 10 inch open baffle can sound that bassy it is pretty remarkable. However I suspect it is a 3 way with 10 inch COAX (open at back of tweeter) and an 18 inch LF / Woofer. Either way sounds amazing. Are these drivers available in Europe / UK too?

That entire video was a collage of many different videos during the day, so take much of it with a grain of salt. We will be doing a full video and review on them soon. But yes, at times, it was just the Baby Baffles, and at times it was the Baby Baffles with the lower section of the big baffles playing as sub-woofers. But in the sections where I say "This is just the Baby Baffles" that is all that is playing.. Parts can be had here - la-dolce-audio.myshopify.com/collections/all

@@rvaillant - Yea, when we made that video, we were all in on the "Beta Buy" that often occurs in our discord. We often get pre final design versions to beta test and give feedback to Terry at LDA. Think for both 10" drivers and the LDA 1002 tweeters its just under a grand for the Baby baffle Kit. What you seen in the video is just part of the Baby Baffle, basically just the tweeter and mid range. we are still working on the 12" driver that will go in the bottom of the baffle. So i don't want to really comment or asses them yet. But some of the best resolution and detail I have heard so far. :) Cheers

Ok, I’m intrigued. I’m building my first set of speakers and I also picked up some Paradigm Titan v3 speakers the other day. Hard to say if they’re better than my DCM Time Windows…but I haven’t plugged them back in. 😁 So let’s say I wanted to make these speakers to really blow my hair back. Where would I find the plans? Also, you mentioned in another video that you can make these and use Dayton speakers to see if you like the style. Which ones? I love clear, transparent sound with tight, quick bass, so I’m pretty sure I’d love these. My living room might get a little tight, but I can work with that. Also, would there be any value in bi-amping these? Not sure what the efficiency is on these, but I’m fairly certain it will take a little something to drive them. Anyway, thanks…I’ve already got the wood for these. Reclaimed old-growth redwood…it would look amazing.

Pity that the audio wasn't recorded better. Sounded pretty bad on KZbin but I expect it was a LOT better in real life.

Oh yea. Of course the compression is high on Facebook. Orignal videos sound great on my system.

So the $12,000+ Fleetwoods are just arm rests now?

They’re $15,000 and pretty much. 🤣. Nah, the Fleetwood are an amazing speaker. They’ve been sent back after review.

I'd put my setup against it anyday of the week.. ask for details.. I kinda like the no cabs. on the speakers, but in a an outdoor setting forget it! The room your in is acting like a speaker cab. Bring it OUTSIDE with no backing behind what so ever.. Sometimes things LOOK Swell but there still made by MATTEL..

We actually had a member do just that. Basically used them as an outdoor PA…. It frkn rocked. People put to many rules on things, and typically the ones that make these rules, have never even done it.

I don't understand how you can test these speakers with all the talking and goofing around. But ar least you're having fun. They sound great!

@@genaishivatov1737 We’ve found that a QTs of .707 is the magic spot for open baffle drivers all around. Paired with proper design, slot loadings and minimalistic single order crossover leads to a speaker that disrupts the industry. 🫶🏼🫶🏼😍😍
