Maybe the law should be changed. I fish all the time and have never had to use any form of weapon. It is a poorly written law and I would guess that it was to allow someone to carry a weapon to and from fishing because they thought the person may need to protect themselves from wildlife. I support First Amendment auditors, but the Armed Fisherman is really pushing the boundaries. There are thousands of shootings in the US every year, so I have no problem with cops thoroughly investigating a guy who is armed with a short-barreled AR-15 assault rifle and walking through a crowd of people. At this point, the Armed Fisherman has uploaded a bunch of videos, so a lot of cops should recognize him, but if they don't know about his videos, then they are well within their rights to thoroughly investigate why this guy is walking through a crowd, armed to the teeth and looking like he's ready to go to war. By the way, I own an AR-15 pistol like the one he's got, but I don't walk around in public with it. I keep it at home for self-defense. If I carried it around in public, I would expect to be stopped by police. That's common sense.

My problem is with his larger aim, to get people used to weapons being carried around in front of them. Considering the number of people who die every year from gunshots, the number of people who carry around guns with bad intent, this is a non-productive thing. I don't really care what word judo cops like to use... But when you physically have your hands cuffed behind your back and in the backseat of the police vehicle "You're under arrest". How they get away with calling it 'detained' is gross. They should not be able to put you in cuffs unless you are legally arrested. The U.S. Military treats POW's better than this... Shameful, modern day law enforcement is just shameful.

@@brentgibson5198 I’m Dori, a mom, and I’m completely comfortable with any guys of any skin color, sitting next to me, armed. Any responsible gun owner, carrying in public, is a benefit to us all. Over three million instances a year occur where violence and/or crime is stopped by the defensive use of a firearm. You’re the type of person that thinks “guns are bad” and they certainly are not. I love legal firearm owners, their possession of firearms, and if more were armed, we’d be able to defend these “gun free zones” (and no longer establish these zones) the mentally ill are attracted to… going where they know no one can stop them, is the attraction. I think your comment is especially ignorant for the reasons above, but also weak, said as a man.

@@brentgibson5198 firstly, racist much? Secondly the overwhelming majority of mass shooting are committed by white males- 61.26% according to Statista. Thirdly, if you think that frequent mass shooting are a reason to curtail gun rights I wholeheartedly agree. Why don’t we start by closing loopholes, implementing universal background checks, and raising the legal age to buy guns etc. Otherwise giving armed government agents discretion to individually and randomly stop and detain any person in possession of a firearm is unproductive and unconstitutional.

Do you honestly believe they don't know? Have some Kool Aid. They know, they admitted they knew, they tried to twist and contort the laws to fit their desires. And absent cameras, they would have prosecuted. They made an actual arrest regardless of what they try to claim. Handcuffed, locked inside a confined area after being transported from the location. That's already case law for a custodial arrest. The time period helps a lot as well. Yeah they all knew long before they even handcuffed him that he was lawful. They searched really hard to find a way to charge him. The end result would only be a much higher awarded judgement that we all get to pay. Unfortunately, the constitution is notice, the law is clear, there is no good faith exception after the officers are not only informed of the law but also admit to knowing it. QI should not apply to any one of these officers, let's see how that goes shall we. When they are given QI by the courts, ask yourself again whether they knew or not. They just don't care. They aren't accountable. But what's really sickening is the proof positive of where our society is headed. All those US citizens on that beach and no one bothered to stand up for his rights or their own. Think about that. We the people are obligated as citizens to defend the constitution, hold our officials (office holders, officers) accountable and in check. We won't, we don't and if this keeps going, we won't be able to. They came for the aristocrats but I said nothing for I was not an aristocrat. They came for the scholars, I said nothing for I was not a scholar. They came for .....and when they came for me, there was no one left to speak. Tyranny does not announce itself in leaps, it takes through little steps, incremental dosages. Today it's Solo, tomorrow it's you. And no one will raise their voice in protest on your behalf any more than the people on the beach did for Solo.

Absolutely no reason to put their hands on him, disarm him, put him in a cop car and demand that he identifies. Everyone is responsible for their own personal safety. Oh right, three dead including the shooter, less than 20 seconds and an armed citizen took out the shooter. So if it's public shootings then an armed citizen is the best defense. Absolutely blows me away, like it just seems like such a massive omission where nearly every other profession requires a degree or requires certifications across many months of training and testing, but law enforcement doesn't. For many law enforcement agencies, all you need is a HS diploma. No law education or training needed. Truly amazing.
