The tailwater portion can't be found even in some reference books. So this explanation is really great. Thank you sir.

Sir I am confused with hydraulic jump developed on downstream of spillway.Why the portion of hydraulic jump will not erode the bed surface? I read in one research paper that large secondary currents and vortices induced by hydraulic jump are the main cause of the scour downstream of a spillway
@abhijeet2463 жыл бұрын
The supercritical portion can surely erode the downstream side of spillway, so a special RCC structure is constructed called as stilling basins, when hydraulic jump forms in the basin, the RCC floor can sustain the excess shear stresses induced by supercritical flow.and beyond the basin , flow is subcritical. Still secondary currents and eddies can damage the floor a little. You can share the paper on abhijeet.lade@gmail.com. I will go through the paper and share my contact number. We can discuss it in details. Abhijit

@@abhijeet246 Sir make the tutorial video on types of energy dissipator and explain through tail water curve (TWC)and Jump height curve (JHC).I mean for different possibilities of curve,which dissipator is used.

if a stone is dropped on water surface and its found that the disturbance on the water is travelling both upstream as well as downstream , this is because the flow is: options 1. Subcritical 2. Supercritical 3 steady 4. Uniform... Plz help in answering this question with little bit explaination.
