The worst part was it destroyed the competition for the next 2 years, I watched the Warriors that 73-9 season they were must watch T.V. playing at a whole different speed than the rest of the league, they pushed themselves to get the record then ended up getting dragged into a couple 7 game playoff series and gassed out, but they were still clearly the best team in the league they just need to shoot for more modest win totals like 67 so they stay fresh for the playoffs, so even after they lost I still thought they were the team to beat but knowing the Cavs had found a way made the next season's potential very exciting especially since OKC blew a 3-1 lead to the Warriors so there was that dynamic, even though Golden State had the edge it was still gonna be interesting to see it play out then in one fail swoop the league is flipped upside down and it took 2 years and an Achilles injury to get back to competitiveness, another decision that I think doesn't get talked about enough is Kwahi Leonards decision to leave Toronto for the Clippers, they had all the right pieces, beating the Warriors even with Durant injured was pretty impressive, now it's like Kwahi doesn't even exist anymore

At the end of the day, you have to admit that Russ was a big reason for Durant leaving. Word has come out since that KD went to management and asked them to control Russ, to try to talk some sense into him because EVER important, high-leverage situation brought out the worst in Russ, when the lights were the brightest Russ tried to play hero ball, dominate the ball when you’ve got one of the best offensive players ever, a clutch player, in KD on the court. Look at how Russ played in those games when GSW came back from 3-1. In the clutch, terrible shot selection, turnovers, terrible shooting %. Durant was tired of Russ playing like HE was MJ in the 4th, asked management to address it, they couldn’t, so he was gone. He KNEW he couldn’t win w Russ style of ball, especially in a league that had become all about distance shooting (what Russ is the worst in the league at). And KD is right. Russ hasn’t left the 2nd round since, despite playing w PG13, Melo, Harden, Steven Adams, etc. That’s at the foundation of why he left. He was tired of the ball-dominant, stat padding, ball hog Russ and knew that if management wouldn’t do anything he would have to go win elsewhere. No coincidence he chose the most unselfish, ball-movement team in the league to go to. It’s all pretty obvious
@brandonb3174 Жыл бұрын

Ppl wants to defend KD by saying he left bc of Westbrook. Man cut it out. Westbrook and the rest of the team were great the first 4 games by leading 3-1. They choked as a team. Both Russ and Kevin did not trust thzeir teammates in games 5, 6 and 7. It was to Coach Donovan to put a system where everybody share the ball. Westbrook is not Jordan. If KD and all the players in the locker room had a great conversation on how they wanted to play, ofc Russ would have change. But they did nothing. KD chose the easy by join the Warriors. Yes he got 2 rings. But even in 50 years, no one would forget his choice by joining Golden State. If it was San Antonio, the story would have not be the same.

Lol to say KD left for the same reason as Lebron is absurd that’s blasphemy. To say Lebron left to win a championship sam as KD is ridiculous. Yes Lebron left to win a chip because he had 0 chance of winning one in Cleveland that’s a FACT. KD left to win a championship but he clearly was so close to winning one in OKC far closer than Lebron was ever in Cleveland. So you cannot use that example and say they wanted to win a championship so they both left. Lebron took Hughes Ilgauskas Snow Pavlovic to the Finals and lost to Spurs dynasty and KD lost a 3-1 lead with KD Russ Adams Ibaka Kanter Payne Waiter Roberson Collison and GSW had Curry Klay Draymond who btw everyone consider trash I don’t just saying Iggy Barnes Bogut Livingston tbh not a huge difference than Lebron losing to The Spurs. Lebron left because Celtics made a great team in the East he wasn’t gonna take them on his own and nobody was coming to Cleveland to help him Pistons were there still and Bulls and Rose were coming up and he just couldn’t compete with them while playing 80 games a year and 45 minutes a game in the playoffs and still losing while Celtics build a big 4 in Boston. Lebron had every single reason to leave Cleveland he did everything he could there and took the team as far as they could go that’s a FACT he wasn’t getting any help in a small market team in that city no chance. KD left while 3-1 up to join Curry a back to back MVP and build a one of a kind Superteam that nobody could compete with that’s a FACT. What’s far worst to me is that KD than won two chips in GSW and same people who condemn him for leaving and said it was the weakest move by a superstar and he was ring chasing and he is weak than proceed to call him the best player in the world while having a super team go figure that out.

Greg Anthony is 100% right. As are Isiah and McHale. If it wasn't a problem when Lebron stacked the deck then it shouldn't be one with any other superstar. No fun when the rabbit gets the gun.

It was a problem when lebron left.But he left to a miami team that just got bounced out in the first round and he,dwade and bosh built a new team to against another big 3 that was formed in boston.While KD left to join the 73-9 team,the team that won 2 season prior,made the finals after that and the same fcking team that beat him in wcf
@kaioken3013 жыл бұрын
@@mddmdd8841 People need to stop whining about that. And let's add context to this. KD didn't join the exact same roster that went 73-9 and won a championship the year prior. He joined Steph, Klay, and Draymond. Their core players. The Warriors gutted the team to make room for him by letting EIGHT of their key rotational players leave. They went from having the deepest and most high scoring bench in basketball to near the bottom of the barrel. A superteam is a superteam. Why it was formed is irrelevant. The point is that they are formed for an easy path to a championship. Both Lebron and KD have chosen to build their legacy's by taking that easy path. Is what it is now.

How didn't you get what he was saying? He's saying that when a team with a great player loses and never gets a chip together, people never say "That team never won a championship". Example: Charles Barkley balled out for Philly and Phoenix, but never had players around him step up. But to this day, people say "Barkley never won a ring".
