I'm a cabinet maker and have been using OCL for about a year now, have completed 8 or 9 small to medium projects and it is really remarkable how intuitive and easy they have made it. By the third project I was confident enough to cut all the pieces directly from the cut list without having the reference shop drawings I usually generate in LO. The parts labeling feature is very powerful and makes keeping track of jobs with dozens or even hundreds of discrete parts logical and straight forward. I always print parts labels and glue to the piece when it comes of the saw. So I've eliminated loosing track of similar dimensioned parts during assembly. But that's not all it can do, and will do for any size shop. This program is a huge benefit for carpenters, cabinet maker, wood worker or makers on general that design with SU. Once you try ît and see the potential please support this group of super talented developers.

I have been using this for a couple of years and I am so impressed by it! So much thought continues to be put into its development, and I would honestly be lost without it now. I am part of a small workshop where we make bespoke furniture, and this a fundamental part of our design and manufacture process.

When cutting all the parts in the workshop, imagine how convenient it is to have stickers labeled that can be glued to each piece one by one and avoid mix-ups in the post-cutting process..

I guess I’m missing something i cannot figure out how to get a cut list made. All of my parts say thickness undefined and if i generate cutlist i get one 2” wide by 36” long cut on one 4x8 sheet of plywood and i have over 16 of them to cut. I have 6 different cutting diagrams to make in the plug in but only 2 different thickness material in my model all of the material is the same. This is very confusing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just started using the extension after watching this video, it's a great tool. Just have one issue, I have a panel with a cut-out in my cabinet but this doesn't show up in the cutting diagram or when I export to DXF for the CNC. Is there something I have missed that would generate the internal cut-out for me?

Isn't there a way to bypass this component rule? it conflicts with my way of working (parts are produced automatically with profile builder and I can't change them all into components one by one every time. And even if I did, with every change I make they are regenerated again as groups.

Hello Sketchup team👋... I installed SketchUV and soap skin bubble plugins... It worked perfectly. And i closed skechup and again opened after some time... Both two extensions are not showing in tool bar.. but it stayed installed in extension manager... I reinstalled two extensions by both extension warehouse and sketchucation... But again it will say installed... But not showing in tool bars... In tool bar setting aslo checked... Kindly help me to solve this problem ❤ If i install any other plugins it will showing in tool bar.. These two extensions only have this problem

Is there a way to export the cut list generated over to Layout? I can get it to export but the dimensions don't show up in Layout.

No, it's not possible. For what purpose would you need to export to layout? Alternatively, you can print to PDF.

@@aaronbebeau ok, exporting/inserting DXF is certainly the only one solution that OCL offers to you. But without dimensions, yes.

How do the guys in the past come up with the cut list without the use of software?

It is very good plugin but limited to sketchup limitations , faces are on component and faces and OCL is not able to sort this perfectly and in my case there was some manufacture problems. For example you do not see object material if there is material on the face and still OCL show object material on the list . It is not what you see what you get in some cases. The same with edgebanding if you put material on the object and put edgebanding just on one face it will ignore object. I wish settings of the materials can be saved to database so I can use again in other projects with vray settings. For example you have Material you will name it Egger MFC 1180 Halifax Oak and then if it will find it in database it will have already settings for it with prompt do you want create clone or use as instance or just limit to one setting by name. In my models names of the materials are long and many of them they will not fit in this the bar on the bottom.
