@@sparkysguitarlessons8589 At least you can still go to see Derek Trucks. He's another true, prodigy. Great lesson on these killer slide licks. I hope that things are going well for you. You seem like a cool guy. What kind of Gibson is that? I'm not crazy about the looks of it but your pickups sound amazing..

@@thebluesrockers Derek is a really tasteful player and maybe the best blues guitarist of the current time. I try to go see him every time he's in Houston. My Gibson is a non reverse firebird from 2002. It has burst bucker pickups in a p94 housing that were apparently only made for this model. A Gibson rep told me that. I haven't seen those particular pickups on any other guitar. Thanks for watching!

EXACTLY! What I was looking for... I would have paid for this in an instant. Keep them coming. You make it so easy to play along or write down the tabs/chords. Thank You dude!

Great lesson, thank you! I’ve got an pretty old Telecaster with a warped neck that’s perfect for a budget slide guitar-this video is just what I needed!

OMG, finally. I've been practicing slide for a while, but every youtuber who offers "licks" can't play even as well as me, sloppy as my slide playing is lol. FINALLY, a guy who opens the video showing he has some CHOPS. Amazing tone and technique, I feel a youtube channel binge coming on, lol.

Good lesson! Not much out there for intermediate players. Either too basic going over technique and no usable licks or too advanced. This lesson is just right!

Thanks for the great lesson Sparky, it's much appreciated. Your guitar sounds great, it looks like some type of Gibson Firebird although I have never seen a Firebird in that configuration. Is it an old vintage one?

Nice tutorial! One thing I haven't heard anyone discuss is how far down on your slide finger the device needs to go. I have fat fingers. Most of the slides I've tried will not go over my middle joint and it feels like maybe I need a larger diameter slide. Any input?

THank you. I am using a Black Country Customs TI Boost which is Tony Iommis Laney boost. Into the Princeton Reverb and thats it. I love that pedal.

I broke my fret hand ring finger two days ago. Can't play guitar otherwise but my fat finger just fits into a wine bottle slide my buddy gave me years back. It'll be a month or so till I can fret with my ring finger so time to develop some new skills. And as I age, slide might be arthritis proof should I become cursed with that affliction.

Do you put the slide on top of the upper fret wire like a PSG,or centered over the fret?
@sparkysguitarlessons85892 жыл бұрын
I had to google "PSG" haha, sorry. I put the slide direct above the metal of the fret. If you put it where you would place your finger when you play without slide, then that would be flat.
