Ok we need the follow-up video of your dad reacting to 4 year old beers!

This guy has been watching too many documentaries on the prohibition era when brewers used bathtubs to brew their beer🛀🍻
@TheBruSho Жыл бұрын
You literally took the idea people have about home brewers "making beer in a bathtub" and brought it to life. Not sure if I should be impressed or worried you're perpetuating a stereotype 😂excellent video Martin!

I know this is a few weeks old but I've been dying to watch this episode ever since I saw the thumbnail! This is easily some of the most entertaining homebrew content I've watched in some time. Dedication is switching out your bathroom lighting for the purpose of good lighting! You sir are a legend!

LOL thanks! The true dedication was spending a week working in the office next to the bathroom while breathing in the aromas of fermentation.

Enjoyed the video, but was hoping for a bit more analysis of the finished product... Did you think it was BETTER than when you brewed it closed fermentation? It would be quite wonderful if you could triangle test some of these beers, being that it's Brulosophy and all.... I'm left knowing that you CAN brew beer in the tub, but I don't have compelling evidence WHY I would want to do open fermentation, tub or not...

Nice. I've kind of damaged the surface our our bathtub with startsan, vineger and some water stone cleaner. The stains were not new waterstone but the glossy surface being etched by the acids. 🤯 So be careful about the bath material.

A few things about this video: 1. You make great videos, keep it up! You're dedication to experimentation and high quality content is amazing. 2. Both of my great-grandfathers were homebrewers starting in the early 1900s. This reminds me of one of them telling me this is how people without any equipment would make their brews. 3. Love the idea of open fermentation, I am sipping an open fermented ale in Belgium as I type! My only concern is, the LOCATION of the open fermentation. Next to the toilet. In arguably the most disgusting room of the house. Lots of chance for nasty bacteria to get in. Maybe next time open ferment in the kitchen! Way better bugs hanging around there. I would be curious to see a sensory panel on the same brewed batch open fermented in two different parts of your house! Keep ip the great vids. Cheers!

Hi Martin, thanks for the video just wondering what type of water filtration system do you use at the moment?
@ad.ke.7224 Жыл бұрын
You could have used the regular dip tube as well, because the name Hefeweizen implies that the beer should contain the yeast, which is at the bottom of the keg. Large rotating tanks are used at Oktoberfest to ensure the beer and yeast are evenly mixed.
@ephemerallyfe Жыл бұрын
That's true, but a prematurely packaged beer will contain proteinaceous trub as well, which is what he wanted to avoid clogging the diptube and affecting the flavor too strongly.
@ad.ke.7224 Жыл бұрын
@@ephemerallyfe In the case of Hefeweizen, I wouldn't worry too much about that.
