They have monopoly of wealth, they have resources but the few educated rich ones uses the poor to illegally extract resources. People with such low level iQ are easy to weaponize. While other regions and tribe strive to become rich, most Northerners just love being poor. I'm not saying everyone must aspire for wealth but if they had their own country they can just do with it what ever they want. Most of them can't use banks, schools, hospitals or even own an ordinary NIN, tell me how most of these institutions would survive if we have only northerners in Nigeria?
