ਆਫ਼ਤਾਬ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਪਨਾਉਂਦਾ, ਉਸਦਾ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਅਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਣਾ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ ਹੈ। ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੀ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਅਸਲੀ ਹੀਰੋ ਹੈ। ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਤਾ-ਉਮਰ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸਰਬ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਇਨਕਲਾਬੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਜ਼ਹਬੀ ਕਰਮਕਾਂਡ ਦੀ ਮਨਾਹੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਕਸਰ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਵੇਂ ਮਜ਼ਹਬ 'ਸਿੱਖਵਾਦ' ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਰੱਖੀ ਸੀ। ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਵਾਂ ਧਰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਸਗੋਂ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਵਾਲ਼ੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ (੧੬ਵੀਂ-੧੭ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ) ਨੇ "ਮਾਰਿਆ ਸਿੱਕਾ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪੰਥ ਚਲਾਇਆ" ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਵਡਿਆਇਆ ਹੈ। ਭਾਈ ਮਰਦਾਨਾ ਜੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ਼ ਜੁੜਨ ਦਾ ਵੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ।

As much we know Bhai Mardaana never converted to Sikhism, even no one converted during the period of Guru Nanak Saahib or even until much later times coz Sikhism got manifested into its final form only after creation of Khaalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Saahib.
