Sadayuki Abeta, chief Open RAN strategist and evangelist at giant Japanese operator NTT Docomo, provides an update on the operator’s mobile network deployments, its aspirations for the deployment of its homegrown service management and orchestration (SMO) platform, and the progress being made by OREX SAI, the Open RAN joint venture between NTT Docomo and NEC, for which Abeta is the CTO.
