That's the hard reality of being sheltered from the outside World. There's a lot that your guardians are afraid of you seeing. This trauma allowed Boog to understand his responsibility and return to the others when they needed it the most, especially Elliot.

It’s very easy to be fooled by Shaw’s more comical moments throughout the movie, that up until this scene we forget that he IS a very skilled and accomplished hunter, which from the perspective of the creatures of the forest, makes him the equivalent of an animal serial killer, Boog has always known that Shaw was a hunter, a particularly nasty one at that, but until this encounter in his shack, I don’t think he truly grasped the reality of just how horrifying what Shaw does for a living really is for wild animals who don’t have a human protector like Beth, he doesn’t just hunt animals to survive, he actively enjoys killing them, then he takes them home and makes them into trophies, food, furniture and even decorations. Boog has no idea just how lucky he was to actually escape from this place with his life.

It’s perfect role reversal, movies like this humanise wild animals, which is done to make us see ourselves in them, so when Boog sees all these hunting trophies aka the stuffed carcasses of forest animals, like the ones he just left behind to fend for themselves, it would be like us entering a house full of stuffed human corpses made into decorations and furniture, this scene was like animal version of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Shaw said Goldilocks, well when i saw Puss in Boots the last wish, Goldilocks when she became a thief but in her past life she was a little orphan, a good girl but when she grows up to be a young thief, apparently bad but it is also shown that she has feelings and conscience that it was actually good, at the end when it's with Puss and Kitty against the Big Jack Horner but we saw that they both won and they don't need the wish star for competition
