Another Pandor. Ellis never sowed any war or genocidal intent in the minds of those who perpetrated it. The Rwandan civil war was historically long in its making. Based on a lack of representation in an age old political system that favoured the one tribe more, it was a tribal dispute that became frustrated by the expulsion of a Tutsi Monarchy and ruling party, with the war reflecting many shades of the French Revolution. It was however, essentially a political power struggle with a curious Monarchial twist to it, because post war, not much on this point ever becomes elaborated on. To call into accurate account then, must be all those in the very long line of handlers of these weapons. All the governments, agents, retailers, buyers and transporters of the weapons, because they all, directly or indirectly facilitated the movement of the weapons to Rwanda. This is not a suitable remedy, if only to consider that were international weapons sales outlawed anytime there was potential for a conflict, then there wouldn't be any weapon sales at all and no one would be able to defend themselves. This alone would be a most unacceptable scenario. From here, any planned genocide would proceed without sophisticated weapons, but it would proceed nonetheless. Go question the Rwanda's Monarchy and their politicians for their historical role in this dated and ongoing power struggle, because prior to the outbreak of hostilities, a great national dissatisfaction obviously existed with this democracy. Go find the Brigadiers, the Generals and other high ranking officals who finally instructed this genocide into reality. Using the term apartheid to background and isolate a charactership merely to consolidate your argument by popular accusation, is not only grossly prejudice but also vastly inaccurate, in the case of Rwanda. It was the early amassing of wealth by conquer over the other Rwandan tribes by the Tsuti Kings that started this conflict. And it was the modern day delimitation of the Hutsi majority from meaningful power sharing, by the Tutsi minority administration that applies. It was the Tutsi historical elitism vs the underprivilege of the Hutsi tribe, which is indeed more relative within the description of apartheid, where the right of the majority to self determination was historically sidelined. To add to this Kagame, still created a war in the Congo where hundreds of thousands died, only to followed by a second war in the Congo. In the end Kabila kicked him out. Arafat and his minority also created trouble by rising up against the Jordanian government in the Black September War, the very government which had offered them safe sanctuary as refugees. Later Arafat created a civil war in Labanon and why it is a devastated economy today. What does this say about Kegame, a peacefull, progressive man? Not a war mongerer. Paul Kagame doesn't play games, his democracy is as far as the one end of universe is from the other. What a poor guest, what a poor understanding of Rwanda. News Room Africa, continually interviewing below standard. You know its an ignoramt and racist cadre when they excuse failed and greedful African rulerships thousands of kilometers away and scapegoat them on local businessmen.

Sounding like kagame's spokesperson. She has no knowledge whatsoever of what happened in Rwanda, she's just reading a script written by the government of Rwanda. Why can't she focus on injustices of apartheid on black south africans and leave Rwanda alone.

You must investigate who's bankrolling this lady talking about matters that are over 30 years. I believe that she's in contact with kagame's government or has a Rwandan spy boyfriend.

Sir, are you implying people complicit in a genocide should not be held to account. Some of these guys were arrested in Australia this year and last year we had one arrested in the Cape winelands. This genocide was the most effective and brutal in history for the number of deeths over such a short time (100 days over 800K deceased). People should be held to account, whether in court or a commission. As South Africans we cannot simply be so dismissive considering our history.
