The question is whether the generative artificial intelligence will advance quickly enough to replace all of the animation jobs or whether it might help revive the classical animation medium by making it more cost-effective. In-betweeners could, conceivably, be replaced by artificial intelligence that interpolates data between two key poses created by a human being.

Why? That's a ridiculous statement. It won't be doing anything different than artists and special effects people are doing now, de-aging actors, bringing dead actors back to life. Digital Artists created Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia as a completely digital character for Rise Of Skywalker using previous footage of her face and figure as a model. These programs are using stored images instead of drawing from scratch. Instead of a stylus, mouse or keyboard to manipulate images its done through voice commands. Its all just input from a person. No person no input.

It's not "AI" it's IP theft. The videos are sourced from real artists, photographers, etc. and stitched together. The "stitching" technology is top-notch, don't get me wrong, but to source the material from copyrighted works without permission is against the law.
