13:50 just imagine if tge CEO of Pepsi woke up tomorrow and told the US government that "you guys preventing me from putting cocaine in my products is SERIOUSLY hurting my sales potential!" Complete nonsense. Just like what these AI bros are doing

5:30, to let you know, it's Silicon Valley, rather than Silicone Valley. Silicon (rhymes with bun) is the element, known for its application as a semiconductor and the foundation of the electronics industry. Silicone (rhymes with phone) is a trademarked name for a family of polymers made out of silicon, called polysiloxane by chemists.

The ultimate irony - ai devours human work to replace it with endless stream of slop, and it is celebrated by opportunists. Then ai devours slop of it's own secretion and starts to generate the endless stream of ugly hallucinations. Opportunists then have to create the AI secretion detector to remove the slop to prevent their ai from being inbred. One could think that ai bros would want to get rid of man-made art because they hate it so much. But in reality, their life depends on man-made art, and their ai doesn't function properly without human creation. I just realized that while writing this, I described ai bros correctly as parasites.

Do you think though that generative A.I will get to a point where it will learn everything it needs to know and it won't need human input to train on anymore?

No. I don't think so, because ai only rehashes art without creating anything unique on it's own. To make something new it has to rely on new art made by people. At this point I think people who only view art as product will need to show their investors constant growth of their ai models, and as a result they may start adding anything they can to the training datasets just for the sake of growth. There is no value to anything ai generated, and I think the only reason the ai boom is ongoing is because it's a new tech thing. Same as NFTs and meme coins. Techbros create a solution for problems that don't exist, and then they try to sell it by making up a problem, just like that clown who said that "people don't enjoy creating". So, to create the illusion of growth and pull money from any investors, they will have to continue stealing anything they can until the ai bubble finally pops. Hopefully something good will come out of it.

21:07-21:19 I remember constantly seeing articles about "imposters syndrome" a while back. Would they not deal with similar, in the end? I agree that this ultimately would result in feelings of emptiness and worthlessness. And its similar to problems surrounding instant gratification versus delayed gratification.

lol good point. If they don't respect copywrite, why should their costumers respect theirs. *que One Piece intro* "...Thus began the Great Pirate Era!"

19:21 Learning an instrument is how you make the best music, because you know it on a fundamental level. You know what else is hard? Parenting. Is he going to sit there and whine that that’s too hard too? Disgusting.

The argument that uses the example of musicians not enjoying the process of learning how to make music is so out of touch. AI bros just remind me of the villain from The Incredibles film "...and when everyone's super - no-one will be."

19:52 Huh? What is this guy on? People enjoy running because it makes them feel good. Runners high is a thing but also, just... accomplishment? Being proud of something you've achieved through work? It's bizarre that this concept is lost on him.

Yeah, he was murdered. But like all of these stories, they won't admit to it until no cares, or they will admit it and they'll say "Yeah we did that, what are you going to do about it, nothing that's what."

But if AI can't use copy-write works, how will I "write' my next best-selling novella in one day? /s Sadly, Trump's 500B$ OPenAI "Stargate" project doesn't make me confident the government can't be bought on this.

The Kickstarter Project that Dixon is a part of says at the bottom... Q. "Do you have the consent of owners of the works that were (or will be) used to produce the AI-generated portion of your projects?" A. "Yes, all the workers on this project have consented to the fact that it is an Image AI Assisted project customized by human artists and 100% of the writing is Human effort." Isn't this what we artists want? Allowed to say yes or no?
@KirkpattieCake
@KirkpattieCake Күн бұрын
No. That's wordplay. He says "All workers on this project have consented." Not the artists, his employees. He used Midjourney, and other genAI programs which trained without consent on the artists they scraped. He doesn't have the consent of the artists and used smarmy language to mean his employees agreed to work on his aiGenerated project. I don't know who he considers "the owners of the works" unless he believes them generating the images makes them owners, which, even according to US law, they're not since you can't copyright aiGenerated works. Tell me at what point were artists able to say yes or no to their work being used by Dixon's production team.

23:03 Anyone else sick of these AI bros speaking out of both sides of their mouths? I find it interesting that activists and proponents of this kind of theft always whine and wring their hands and claim they’re not doing what they’re doing, then insist they can do it anyway. 43:29 No, I don’t care to speak to a bot. Bots are confined to a data set, people actually think and find solutions. FB has been swamped with AI generated pages, profiles, and ads. All geared to get a click and send you to a hackable site or worse. 42:26 I had to take a moment. There’s not giving a sh!t about editing your work, but THAT? It’s disheartening how many people want to turn themselves into mindless blobs. 58:31 Looking forward to the Legend of Bill Cassidy in November. I think AI is being forced on us because the tech companies are desperate to replace people with it in all areas of life. They want to give other corporations the tools to cut labor costs. What no one seems to be thinking of (unless it’s a darker purpose I won’t discuss because YT bots are assh@les) is what kind of economy do you have when no one can afford to buy anything? If people remain sick or die because some bot decided it was better for the corporate ledger, eventually you’re not going to have a population to get profit out of. Then what? I doubt any of those greedy monsters are even thinking that far ahead. The utopia these AI bros long for is basically Mars-a wasteland populated by robots.
