Hi all! Now back with another openBVE Video for Singapore's 59th Birthday. It features Set 6001/6002, a Siemens Inspiro C651E, running from Carlisle to Newcastle Central stations with test stops at Brampton and Hexham stations.
The C651E trains, imagined to be manufactured by Siemens, shares the same uniqueness with the C351A trains, compared to the present Singapore MRT trains due to some features. One of them is the top speeds (150 km/h for Design, 120 to 135 km/h maximum for Service).
One common feature shared by any typical Singapore MRT Train and the C351A is the size of the C651E train cars, Sized to the same dimensions of a typical MRT train car, 22.8m long for non driving car and 23.83m long for a driving car, 3.2m wide and 3.7m tall (3.8m tall inclusive of aircon pods).
This train is based on the Inspiro Metro platform, uses a Siemens SIBAC IGBT-VVVF and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs). Although the largest Inspiro train cars are just shy of the Singapore MRT Train Car size standards, this could be what if Siemens extends the Inspiro Metro platform to include the large train sizes that the MRT uses.
This train was created as a gift for Singapore as a tribute for her 59th birthday, with the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid used as inspiration for the train's design. Want to give this train a try? Now you can via the link below.
