Opening A Butcher Shop! - How I'm Opening A New Shop, All The Details Included Episode #1

In this video series I will show you start to finish how I am opening a butcher shop. Everything from hiring an architect, to the permitting process, to construction, hiring staff, cooking recipes, to opening the business and everything in-between.
It will be a lot of information, but I think people will find the entire process interesting. For those young aspiring business owners that are in the hospitality industry, this will show you how to do it.
For those of you who are mostly here for the cooking videos be patient. I will have a ton of content to release once the shop is open and occasionally before then too.

Thank you! Yes, it is a major undertaking. Once the display cases are put in, retail shelfs and a few tables I'm hoping it will be just the right size. But we shall see how it all turns out. Excited to share this experience

Location is the key. If there are restaurants, cafés etc who will want you to supply them with your produce and folk from the neighbourhood who just want some great quality meat, you're made. Reminds me of when myself & a friend set up a restaurant (as chefs); it's frustrating and also exciting walking around seeing what the joint is currently like and how you see it in your mind's eye in 6months time, isn't it? Our project was an absolute flop, I won't lie; we didn't consider location; we were enthusiastic but very naive! All the best for your business, buddy. Hope all the hard work comes to fruition 👍.

Thank you I appreciate that. Sorry to hear your endeavor didn't work out as planned. After looking around the area for a few months, I found the best location possible for the monthly rent I am paying, which I think is reasonable. I constantly keep in mind that even with everything going for me it still could flop. I think thats just business and the risk you have to be willing take. Quite frankly it's terrifying but I think what's even more terrifying is the thought of never actually trying. What did you end up doing after closing your restaurant?

@@cambeaukitchen We got drunk for a week then opened a Bistro. Authentic French cooking, but we couldn't get any reliable or commited staff; it's a nightmare when you've built your ship and there's no-one who's prepared to help steer it to it's destination. 'It's terrifying but I think what's even more terrifying is the thought of never actually trying' - wise words. Hang in there, buddy 👍.

Thank you for following up. I plan on posting an update video soon. Including some more specific details regarding permits, curveballs, things to look out for ect.. I hope to have to doors open by Valentines day (Feb 14th) 2024. I have to say, it's really unbelievable how easily these projects get pushed back. Of course I am naive to this whole process. I look forward to documenting everything.

Landlord showed me. I had to build the partition wall to split it in half. I rented half which is 1500sq ft
