@@RealAntek Copper is a killer too. New building designs are looking at the past; back to copper door knobs/push plates. Naturally lethal to many germs. A hospital I was working in was doing it. Also, years ago, homes had a piece of copper flashing on the sill plates which naturally kept out termites/carpenter ants.

I definitely stayed to watch it all. I have several boxes of silver coins simular in size but they are stored away in a large safe that is hard to get to now, so I seldom have a chance to look in it anymore. This was like getting to look at some of my silver collection without having to climb over things in storage to get to see them!! So thank you very much for taking the time to share it with me!! Brings back all the excitement I have felt throughout the years as I collected and admired my stash! Lol ... Young people, listen, it is very important to start buying or roll hunting for silver now, even just one or two coins at a time in the beginning. Well worth the time and effort both as a hobby and the best store of wealth investment. So get busy stacking younguns!

I admit it, after years of stacking, I FINALLY have been buying (almost exclusively as of late) 90%. Because I never stacked it, I didn't want to have to do the math to get one troy ounce of .999. When I learned that $1.40 face is the magic number, and premiums went as high as they are at the moment, it's a win for me!

my parents run a small restaurant and i use to find 90% silver dimes and quarters all the time, customers would literally HAND me 90% silver quarters at the register and i would have a massive grin on my face. Many people don't know about 90% silver. i would also get star notes, silver certificates. it's been harder to find them these days due to the pandemic, there is a coin shortage (limiting the amount of coins the bank will give us) and people tend to pay with debit/credit cards more often these days.

As far as 40% and 35% silver goes, I think the 40% halves are greatly underappreciated. The war nickels have manganese which makes them very difficult to refine. However, the halves are 60% copper so they're no more difficult to refine than "junk". You just end up getting some extra copper nitrate out of the deal when you cement out the Ag.

I got that exact (empty) Royal mint monster box and ’m still working on filling it with my whole stack. I’m getting close. But it’s bullion, rounds different size bars and my 90%. I just don’t go for anything 40% because It takes up too much space. I do have one war nickel just because I found it so I threw him in the pot of 90%. I have everything sorted in there. Actually just ordered another empty box because I’m getting close and it’ll be my next goal to fill that one up.

@Steve4TheWin 5 жыл бұрын
@@derricksowers9074 Until you are more familiar with different coins I suggest buying from reputable dealers. One of the best is JM Bullion. Right now they have 1 toz( troy oz) silver rounds of .999 silver for 18.84 including tax and shipping (they always pay that part). SIlver is $17.19 today so that is about 10% over spot price. A silver round is a coin made by a refinery not by a govt. They are nice to collect, come in many designs, and 18.84 is the cheapest price I am seeing for any 1 toz silver coin or bar at the present. I just bought 10 of these coins this morning.

Keep in mind that a coin and a round are different. That’s why a premium is generally added to coins.
@derricksowers9074
@derricksowers9074 5 жыл бұрын
@@Spegtacular So would the premium also be there if I ever had to sell them? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but are the coins easier to off load "sell"? Or I guess i should just ask why pay more for a coin if it dosen't make a difference on the end. Or is it because more buyers like coin collectors would also be interested in buying them, not just for stacking? By the way thank you @Steve S @SpegTacular for the replies.

When I buy junk silver from my lcs, I always look through it myself and there is usually Mercury dimes mixed in with the the Roosevelt dimes. I usually pick out all of the decent mercuries. If I had more constitutional/junk silver ... I'd buy some Whitman folders and populate the holes! Also, in my experience, Washington quarters carry the lowest premium over spot. Buy "mixed" constitutional, and that's what you'll end up with 99% of the time. Specifically buy dimes or halves and you'll almost always pay more. What really surprises me are the relatively low premiums on BU 1964 Kennedies!

I watched a video where they unboxed a monster box that had been buried in the back yard for 8 years and it kept the silver in good condition for all those years...Moral of the story-monster boxes are great for storage...

Yes I stayed I’m interested in what you collect . I buy ASE mainly but have a little bit of PEACE and Morgan’s , rounds and a lot of constitutional and don’t need any more junk . I’m buying cull of ASE at 1.75 over spot . $15.50 cull Peace and 16.50 cull of Morgan’s . I haven’t bought Rounds in a while but have Prospectors and some sunshine and I like a couple of premium Koooks koalas pandas .

I watched the entire video just to see how many times you would drop your silver on the floor. That's a great stack foundation. Those monster boxes get HEAVY pretty quick.

I have only 2 Standing Liberty Quarters. Both have no dates and they're not that slick. Other coins that I have seem to be more slicked out but have the date. So you'd think they'd have a date! I'm only 5 months into collecting, so I didn't know until now, that 1916 to 1924 had the dates raised like that! That explains why. I most likely have a '16 to '24. Thank You for that bit of info! Have a GREAT Day!!!

Gold Stacking here in the US, we have good reasons to maintain our anti-china opinions/sentiment! It is difficult to find products which are not made in china - no matter whether it is garlic at the grocery store, shoes for our feet, or cellphones! Also, outside the USA, china holds an unhealthy portion of our public debt; our politicians should have never allowed so much debt to be aquired by other than US Citizens!, but then politicians rarely try to do what is best for their own country anyhow! On top of those problems, we can pile the huge number of counterfeit products (including metals) which china sends to other countries (including the USA)!
