Opening a Sealed Final Fantasy X - 20 Years Later

This one hits me right in the feels, a big part of my childhood and still my favorite FF to date! Thanks for letting me relive the place in time where I opened this game myself :)

That right there is worth more than any value put on this game. To relive a childhood moment from the past. I was already a teen when this game came out but I was broke and originally bought it used. So this was my first time opening a sealed one. Thanks for watching and the continued support.

Interesting that the manual was torn a bit in the middle. I had forgotten that some games did in fact come with that damage. I've always wondered why. I guess some mechanical arm that shoves it in under the plastic tab probably had to much force, or something. These weren't made to be collectibles, so I assume SONY just didn't care so long as the damage was within tolerance.

It's from the manual shifting around the case and hitting the center peg. Almost every PS2 manual has this issue. Some minor and some alot worse. it's so common that I really don't consider it damage.

Yes! A new video from you! I'm assuming the price on this game has gone up considerably, because it seems to be shown with bigger hauls on r/GameCollecting on Reddit. Like I've said before. The PS2 era of gaming was one I had unfortunately skipped over. Perhaps it's something I might want to invest my time in later. I honestly loved the video and I really liked how you did the intro to it! Hope to see more from you this year!

Sealed copies have gone up alot with some even selling in the 1K range. I'm sure most people think I'm crazy for opening this but I had bought this years ago for a fraction of what it goes for now with the intention of opening it one day. Thank you for the continued support as always. :)

Breath of Fire IV has the swap out battle system too. I think BoF4 did a little bit better of a job with it, but still really well implemented in FFX.

My best friend _loves_ Final Fantasy X, and I did play it a fair bit when I was a kid! I think it’s a neat game. Final Fantasy X is actually the only FF game I’ve played. Never finished it, though. My favorite Square Enix title is The Bouncer, and I always felt that FFX overshadowed it during its release. The Bouncer came and went without much of a fanfare and then FFX swoops in and steals the show. Though I guess that’s to be expected for a franchise as big as Final Fantasy. The Bouncer and FFX were Square Enix’s first two major outings on the PS2, and I think FFX’s mere existence doomed The Bouncer. 😭

Even though The Bouncer is like a spiritual successor to Tobal, it was a new IP to most people. Final Fantasy had been a well established name for years at this point. Had The Bouncer been released as a launch title, it would have had alot more successful.

@@GoodVibeCollecting No doubt about that! A new IP clashing with an already existing one is often times a losing battle for the new IP. FFX had a lot of high expectations to live up to since it was the very first FF game on the PS2. And, well… I think it far exceeded those expectations and then some. The Bouncer was subjected to the same level of high expectations, but I think this was due in part to people expecting another Final Fantasy-esque experience, which The Bouncer was not meant to be.
